6 - girl meets dragon

It was finally time for the first Tri-Wizard Tournament challenge, there had been whispers about dragons which obviously intrigued Jesse. The challenge was in a few days and she wanted to confirm the whispers with someone who would most likely know. It was strange for Jesse to be walking up towards the Gryffindor common room, for most slytherin's this place was like enemy base however Jesse just had never needed to go there before.

She waited for a familiar Gryffindor to walk past, she jumped up and noticed Hermione "hey um Hermione is it?" She spoke towards the girl, receiving a nod back "oh cool, could you tell George, if he's in there, that I need to speak with him?" She asked, hoping the girl would agree "sure, I can't promise I can find him but if he's in here I'll mention it to him. If not I'll tell Ron to go tell him" she nodded with her comment before entering the Gryffindor common room, as Jesse resumed her place on the stairs near the common room.

Once Hermione entered the common room, she looked around seeing if she could spot the pair of redheads. She noticed one redhead however, it wasn't the one the girl requested "Fred.. Some girl is looking for George, a slytherin" she mentioned before heading up to her dorm. A smirk was plastered onto his face when he heard this information and decided to use it to his advantage. He headed out of the common room and stood before Jesse "hey Jesse~ heard you were looking for me?"

Jesse stood and looked at Fred "Fred you aren't fooling anyone, now where's George?" She questioned making Fred pout slightly "how come you can tell us apart!" He grumbled at this fact "because I've had potions with you both for as long as I can remember, plus you and George are quite different despite being twins, now where is he?" She questioned him again, earning a sigh from Fred "follow me" he spoke before heading off down the staircase. Jesse eagerly followed him with a smile on her face.

Fred brought Jesse to George, he was messing about with some pranks in the courtyard. He turned to look at the girl stood with Fred "oh hey Jesse" which earned a smile from Jesse "I need to talk to you" she replied bluntly, grabbing George's wrist and pulling him away from Fred and Lee. George turned back whilst being pulled away from his brother and Fred, them both making Kissy noises and mocking George. He let a sigh out before being stopped. Jesse stood in front of him in a desolate corridor

"So rumour has it that the first challenge is dragons.." she looked up at George with hopeful eyes "I was wondering when you'd ask about this" he said with a smirk "mom sent me a owl saying Charlie was home for something to do for school so it's probably true" Jesse gasped and clapped her hands "that means there's dragons!!" She said happily "can I meet him? Your brother" she asked, looking up into George's hazel eyes.

Without hesitation, George grabbed Jesse's hand and pulled her towards the forbidden forest "wait.. where are we going George?" She asked the boy with confusion "to see the dragons" George said with the same smirk plastered on his face.

George stopped when the reached the destination. Jesse gasped as she could see the four cages in the distance, obviously with dragons in them. Before she knew it, another ginger was stood before her, this must be Charlie "so you're the girl who loves dragons" he said, getting a nod in reply from Jesse "it's my dream to work with them" she mumbled slightly, however loud enough for the two redheads to hear.

George nodded "she's amazing at care of magical creatures!" He added, making Jesse blush slightly with embarrassment "well Jesse.. I have something to show you" Charlie said before pulling out a baby Welsh green. Jesse gasped and made a small 'awe' noise before being handed the baby dragon by Charlie. Jesse cooed and stroked the dragon slightly "she's beautiful" Jesse added. George gave her a confused look "how do you know she's a girl?" He questioned earning a chuckled from Charlie "I can see what you mean now Georgie, she's a natural with this sort of thing"

George pulled Charlie aside whilst Jesse was playing with the small dragon, looking happy with herself, her face practically beaming. "So Charlie.. do you think you could put in a word, at Romanian dragon sanctuary, I know we're only in our 6th year but she really wants this" he hoped Charlie would accept his request "sure, I'll have to send her an owl though if she really wanted it" he smiled before gaining a hug from George "she's a keeper you know" Charlie said earning a shove from George, a blush appearing on his face "and if you don't want her,, I'll take a girl with that type of knowledge and skill on dragons" Charlie whispered to George before he gasped at the comment, grumbling slightly "I'm only joking Georgie!" He said quite loudly.

Jesse looked over at them before heading over and handing Charlie the dragon "thank you for this Charlie" she said with a bright smile "no problem, now you'll see the bigger ones in a couple of days for the challenge, but don't tell anyone about this" Jesse nodded gleefully before her and George said their goodbyes and headed back to the school "thank you George.. really thank you" she said as they walked back.

Once they reached one of the many entrances to the school, Jesse stopped and hugged George tightly "you're honestly the best~ I'm glad to call you my friend" she said before she felt George hug her back "you're welcome Jess" he replied in her ear, sending shivers throughout her body. He released her and frowned "are you cold?" He asked her, Jesse shook her head "no no I'm fine don't worry about me" she pressed her lips against George's cheek lightly "again thank you for this" she said before walking off to the slytherin common room.

George stood frozen. Jesse had just kissed his cheek however he did friend zone her slightly. He was happy with himself though, she hadn't called him 'her friend' just yet and now they're even closer than they were before. He started heading off to find Fred to tell him what happened.
