Jesse was sat in the great hall, during her study period, she glanced over at George who was sat at the Gryffindor table. She noticed the teachers weren't looking so she stood up and walked over to him, sitting next to him "what's the matter with you?" She whispered to the boy, they hadn't spoken for since potions on Monday and Jesse was starting to become worried "I don't want to discuss this here" he whispered back, a harsh tone to his voice "why not? I don't think I've done anything wrong" Jesse replied back to him, honestly confused on why George was so mad.

Fred noticed the two and huffed, he looked at Jesse "this is the Gryffindor table Slytherin." He said harshly 'what's wrong with these two?' She thought to herself. She stood back up and handed her parchment to Snape before saying she was heading to the toilet. She gave George a stare before heading out of the hall, hoping he would follow. George looked at Fred "should I go? She wants to talk" Fred nodded in reply "give her a piece of your mind" Fred added as George walked out of the hall.

Jesse noticed George and walked over to him before pulling him aside "tell me what's going on george" she asked, hoping to get something out of George "you haven't spoken to me since potions, did I say something?" George cracked slightly from the worry Jesse had in her eyes "I heard about your date. And you kissed him" Jesse gasped "no I.. he kissed me!" She exclaimed, she couldn't understand why George was annoyed "well I was going to ask you to the ball but after that. I'd rather go with someone else"

Jesse's heart broke "I had a date George! You don't gate keep me! Why didn't you ask before then huh? I would've sad yes!!" She shouted before staring at George, her eyes welling up "well if you like me then why would you go on a date with that Slytherin!" He shouted back. "I hate you George!" She shouted without thinking. She went quiet before running off in tears to the Slytherin common room. When she arrived she walked straight to her room and sobbed into her pillow "he's so mean" she mumbled to herself.

Jesse had spent the rest of the day in her dorm, getting Elise to explain she was sick to her teachers so she wouldn't have to go back to classes. 'George cared so much? But why, I didn't think he'd feel that way, I hate him for reacting like that but I can't hate him.. I like him but I've got to push those feelings away, Thomas made the effort unlike George' she pondered in her thoughts as she heard the door open, Elise walking in "hey Jess, what really happened?" She questioned the girl, snapping her out of her thoughts

"Me and George had an argument, he got all annoyed because I went on that date with Thomas and said he was going to ask me to the ball but isn't now." Jesse said "I told him I hate him.. it was so sudden I didn't even realise I said it" she added on, looking down and stroking Snow "at least I have snow" she sniffled as snow brushed against her hand "oh Jesse.. I'm sure he'll come around, I can tell there's something between you both and I know it'll work out" she added whilst giving Jesse a hug.

Jesse and Elise both spent the night snuggled up in their blankets, asking one another questions. Snow was perched on Jesse's lap as she fed her cat treats "so are you excited to go to Romania" Jesse nodded and smiled weakly "it's sort of bittersweet isn't it, George helped me get it and now he hates me" she sighed whilst stroking snow softly "do you think he'll ask me to the ball?" Jesse added whilst Elise shrugged "boys are a mysterious species" they both laughed at the comment whilst enjoying their night.
