29 - meet me in the astronomy tower

It had been a week since the double date and George still hadn't asked Jesse out, since she told him to simply ask her out, it set out planning a little romantic date in the astronomy tower since it meant a lot to them both. It was a quite place where they could spend time together without anyone interrupting. He also knew Jesse enjoyed watching the stairs.

George had gone to the library and taken out various books on astronomy and astrology, such as constellations, what they mean, and how to look for them. The librarian wasn't too fond on this idea so it took George a lot of effort to actually take them out.

He then packed everything he needed into a Wicca basket along with some pumpkin juice and sandwiches, chocolate spread and strawberry jam, Jesse's favourite which George hated the idea of until he tried it. He grabbed a blanket and stuffed it into the basket as well and hid it under his bed so he could await asking Jesse out. He had read some of the books and tonight was a good night to go out looking at stars. So today was the day he'd pluck up the courage and ask her out.

It was lunchtime and Jesse was sitting at the Slytherin table instead of the Gryffindor, it was too risky to go up to the Slytherin table and ask her because of the other house members so he decided to wait until she got up to leave the great hall and soon after, like he hoped she did. He stood up and followed her out, grabbing her wrist gently "Jesse~ can we talk"

Jesse jumped at the action and turned around to see George, she sighed relief and nodded, walking with George down the corridor "so~ would you like to go on that date?" He asked her, his cheeks turning a soft pink colour. Jesse blushed along with him "sure Georgie~" she responded, George smiled gleefully "okay~ meet me in the astronomy at 7pm" he said before kissing her cheek and walking away.

Jesse stood in shock and blushed a deep red colour. She looked at her watch and took a mental note of the time. it was 1pm so she had another 6 hours until her date with George, however before she could think about getting ready, she had charms and transfiguration to worry about. Luckily she got off at 4:30 so she had plenty of time to get herself ready. She headed to charms and carried on thinking about this date.

Jesse got back to her dorm room and pondered over what to wear, it was getting closer to spring as it was mid March now so she could risk wearing a skirt and if worse came to worse she could use her coldness as an excuse to cuddle with George.

She decided it, she pulled on a deep blue crop top along with a emerald green and navy blue plaid skirt, she pulled on some sheer tights just in case and grabbed a emerald green jacket to pull over the top of her. She added some green and blue eyeshadow and mascara as she didn't want to go overboard. She remembered that George once said that her freckles were beautiful and she shouldn't cover them up so she decided not to put on foundation. She pulled on some knee high black boots and shoved her wand into them before looking at her watch. It was 6:30pm. There was nothing wrong with being early she thought to herself.

She exited the building and walked towards the astronomy tower. She slowly headed up the steps and noticed a familiar redhead, of course he was already there. She stood at the top of the stairs and smiled "hey Georgie" she spoke slightly. George turned around and smiled "hey beautiful" Jesse blushed and walked over to him "so what do you have planned for this date?" She asked.

George pulled Jesse over to him and smiled "well I thought we could look at the stars" he had set up the blanket and picnic basket infront of the open part of the tower by the railings. Jesse smiled widely and nodded before sitting down, George sitting down next to her "I even took some books out of the library~ and I brought some pumpkin juice and chocolate and strawberry jam sandwiches" Jesse gave George a wide smile, he had actually put a lot of thought into this date which she didn't think he would do being the prankster he is.

Jesse pulled out one of the books and looked at the sky "look! It's Ursa Major" she said looking at the stars "ugh I just saw draco" he pointed to the Draco constellation. Jesse giggled slightly "did you know Draco is actually Latin for dragon" Jesse pointed out "pity such an awful boy was stuck with the name" George said.

They carried on finding different constellation and eating the sandwiches. After half an hour George stood up and held his hand out his hand for her. Jesse took it and stood up, george pulled out his wand and faint music started to play before he put it in his back pocket "care to dance~?" Jesse giggled and nodded "of course Georgie~"

George pulled Jesse close and placed his hand on her waist, Jesse placing hers on his shoulder. They swayed to the music and soon enough Jesse rested her head on George's shoulder "this was an amazing date Georgie~ thank you" she mumbled into his chest "you're welcome cupcake" he replied. He pulled away slightly and kissed Jesse softly, holding her close to him as he did.

Jesse soon pulled away and Smiled warmly, she looked at her watch "it's almost curfew~ we should head back inside now Georgie" she said, her cheeks a deep red colour. George nodded and collected up everything and placed it into the basket, pulling out his wand and making the music go away. They headed back to the school and Jesse pecked George before heading to the slytherin common room, it was a great date.
