An: okay so this is part 1 of when things collapse so I thought it was too big of a plot line to have in one chapter, they'll most likely be shorter than usual as I want to split them up.

It was the 14th April 1995, the twins had their birthday just two weeks ago. The air outside began to become warmer, it was an ordinary Friday (yes I actually googled what day it would have been in 1995), or so Jesse thought. She had a busy day With transfiguration in the morning herb ology after lunch and study of ancient runes just before dinner, which meant she had hardly anytime to herself.
It was lunchtime and owls came flying in, giving everyone letters, who had received them of course, a letter fell in front of Jesse, it was from her mother. She could tell from the sapphire blue seal that held it together with the name Everly on the seal, her mother's maiden name. She ripped open the envelope and read through the parchment crest was inside.
Dear, my beautiful Jesse
I am sad to inform you that me and your father, are going through a divorce. We wanted to keep this from you however we are unable to anymore. Your father will be moving into the flat above Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and I will be staying at our home as I own it.
I hope that you take this news well, I have already sent a letter to your head of house, professor Snape, allowing you to come visit me this weekend or spend time with your father, if you do not wish to stay at school.
Best wishes, mom.
Jesse's eyes welled up at the news, her parents had always worked things out, always and now they couldn't anymore. She stood up from her lunch and stuffed the letter into her robe pocket before walking out of the room, she didn't know what to do and what to believe, she loved both her mother and father and couldn't bare to not see them together.
She wiped the tears from her eyes that had now started to reside on her cheeks. She sniffled as she cried silently to herself. She read the letter to herself over and over again, it still didn't make sense. She wanted to speak to her mother and would take up the offer of seeing her that weekend.
She composed herself and walked towards Snape's classroom, faintly knocking on the door until she was allowed in "and what do I owe the pleasure, Blossom" Snape looked up at the girl "I assume you got the letter from my mom.. and I'd like to take the leave and go home this weekend" she said quietly, holding back her tears. Snape closed his book and looked up at Jesse "as you wish. Now I would suggest going upstairs and packing your things"
Jesse walked out of Snape office after he told her what was going to happen, she would take the Floo network to her family home that afternoon and miss study of ancient runes which didn't bother her too much. She ran into Elise when heading back to her dorm and explained to her where she was going and to tell George for her. She packed a small case of clothes and picked up snow before heading back to Snapes office.
Once she arrived back he escorted her to the fireplace and told her exactly what to do. She took some of the powder and spoke loudly her home address before throwing it down. Moment later she stumbled out of her fireplace at home, snow running off in some direction. It felt nice to be home.
Jesse glanced into the kitchen and saw her mother cooking "mom.." she called out. Making Hannah, her mother turn around and rush over to her, hugging her tightly. Jesse embraced the hug and let out a soft sigh "it's good to see you Jesse~" her mother spoke softly before letting go of her.
Jesse didn't know what to say to her mother, she said she could ask her anything but now she got round to it she couldn't, they had sat down on the sofa, Jesse looked into her hot coco and sighed "is it because of me?" Jesse muttered slightly "no no of course not~ me and your father just.. fell out of love" Jesse nodded at her mother's comment "we decided that.. if you want, you can stay with your uncle Lupin for the summer? If you don't wish to be home with me and your father are sorting things out" her mother exclaimed.
Remus Lupin wasn't blood related to the family, however he was her fathers oldest friend, they all went to school together and him and her father got turned pretty much at the same time, however he'd fathers scar was across his chest and Lupin's across his face. She nodded slightly "please.. if you don't mind" Her mother nodded in response "well I'll make sure to pack your things and send them to Lupins when you get back home from Romania~ which I'm so happy for you"
They talked for the rest of the day which made Jesse feel better. She dropped her bags in her room and sighed happily, it was nice to be home.
