7 - first challenge

It was the morning of the first challenge, When Jesse returned to the slytherin common room she told Elise everything that had happened, even though she wasn't supposed to tell anyone about the dragons, but she trusted Elise and she was her best friend, how could she not tell her.

"Wait wait wait so you kissed his cheek!!" Elise had practically screamed, making those in the common room turn to them. Jesse had swatted Elise's arm "it was an in the moment thing! I just did it" Jesse had exclaimed, a blush covered her face.

"Well I think George did a good job at a first date!" Which made Jesse pondering over that thought "a first date? No it wasn't that, he just knows I like dragons" Jesse had exclaimed.

This thought was still pondering her over the breakfast she hardly ate any of. She had wrapped her emerald green scarf around her neck and pulled on the matching hat as it began to become cold as winter was approaching, her and Elise were making their way towards the arena which was in a clearing in The forbidden forest, where Jesse had previously visited "I'm so excited to see the dragons!" Jesse exclaimed, practically shaking with excitement. Elise sighed "you've got to calm yourself down, they're only dragons" "no they aren't though Elise, I've never seen a fully grown dragon before!" Jesse spoke as they sat down, not many slytherin's were gathered to watch the challenge as they didn't have anyone to represent their house.

As Jesse waited for the challenge to start, she noticed two redheads make their way towards them "would either of you lovely ladies like to place a bet?" Fred spoke with a grin plastered on his face "we're good" Elise spoke back "hey George" Jesse said, gaining a smile and wave from the other red headed twin. She turned back to Elise as they left, receiving a smug look from her "you're such a flirt!" "I'm not, I'm being friendly" Jesse exclaimed back at her friend.

Dumbledore had walked into the stadium and spoken into his wand which was practically a microphone. He exclaimed that the first Tri-wizard tournament was about to begin with the first challenger being Cedric Diggory. He was to collect the golden egg which held a clue for the next challenge from the Swedish short snout. Jesse watched eagerly as Cedric transfigured a nearby bolder into a Labrador dog, diverting the dragons attention which left a window for him to steal the egg, however the Swedish short snout had noticed this, leaving Cedric with some nasty burns whilst the crowd erupted into cheers, mainly the Hufflepuffs as he had completed the first challenge.

Next up is Fleur Delacore who had chosen the common welsh green, a dragon Jesse was familiar with, however the one she held wasn't full grown as the one which Fleur was up against. She successfully charmed the dragon to fall asleep, however it's snores made her robes set alight as she retrieved the egg, the Beauxbaton students could be heard cheering as she retrieved the egg.

Krum was the third person to retrieve his egg, he had the Chinese fireball "that's one of my favourite breeds" Jesse whispered to Elise as they watched the challenge, he used the conjunctivitis charm on the dragon however this enraged the dragon causing it to destroy its own eggs and Krum collected the golden one. Jesse gasped slightly and felt bad for the dragon, angry at Krum for causing the dragon to break its own eggs.

The final champion was Harry, who was made to compete as the Goblet of Fire chose him. The dragon is the Hungarian horntail, the most dangerous dragon from the lineup, "do you think Harry will be able to do this?" She questioned, leaning in towards Elise "I don't know.. he is the youngest champion" Elise added. Harry came out into the arena, after being thrown about he charmed his fire bolt which came to his aid which he swiftly flew away with, the dragon following, breaking the chains connecting it to the ground. Jesse was mesmerised even though a dangerous dragon had just broke its chains. It left the golden egg unattended which left Harry a free window to swoop in and collect the eggs, as he did, cheers were heard throughout the arena.

Everyone had headed back to the school. Thomas catching up with Jesse "hey Jesse~ did you enjoy watching all those dragons?" He questioned receiving a nod from Jesse "I loved it! However I'm annoyed Krum made the Chinese fireball destroy her eggs" Jesse said with a sigh. Thomas hugging her slightly. "Thanks Tommy.. I did get to hold a baby Welsh green yesterday but you can't tell anyone about that" she spoke with a stern look causing Thomas to chuckle "don't worry I won't" he replied.

George had watched Thomas and Jesse, Thomas will his arm around Jesse, he was seething at the sight, huffing and puffing. He felt jealous however he shouldn't as him and her were just friends, right?
