The Park

    {that's just a part of the playground but imagine that's it's in May because ya know lol}

After a few more minutes we arrive home. Well their house. She stops the car and we get out so she can open the door to the house. Once we get it, I rush upstairs and check if I need to fix my hair or anything. I look at my face thinking oh what the heck I'll be fine. I go downstairs to find Melanie in the kitchen already making food
Melanie- Mac n Cheese, how about that?
OOHHH MY FAVORITE
Me- mm great, I'm gonna read in the living room for awhile
As I remember I still have my book bag on my back and I need to finish the book by tonight too. She nods and continue mixing the food. I head into the living room and plop down on the couch and continue the book from where I left off. About 20min go by and I'm already eating the Mac and cheese while reading the book. Melanie is siting in front of me also eating
Me- Its almost time so... could I go?
I look up to her as she looks at me and holds a finger up. She walks over to the phone, probably to call Oliver now. Once she's done putting in the number, it rings three times before answering
Melanie- hello Olly, Savannah and I were wondering if she can hang out with a group of girl friends right about now. Yeah of course she ate, we had her favorite. Mhm yeah. Ok, well we'll you soon darlin
She puts the phone down and turns to me with a sad face.. uh oh
Me- what? Mel cmon why'd he say no?
Melanie- it's just... JUST KIDDING
She gleams while jumping up and down. WAIT THEN I CAN GO. I start jumping with her. I feel so happy right now I wish the party could see me now..
Melanie- let's start heading for your hang out with the girls
Me- ok
    We both get back into the car and I tell her to go to the park where they told me to. I really can't believe this. 5months later and I'm already making friends.
     After awhile of driving, Melanie stops in front of a gated area with the park inside it. I look at Mel and smile
Me- thank you for this
Melanie- it's not problem, you need this. I'll pick you up in an hour and a half, ok?
Me- yes
Melanie- and have fun
She grins
Me- I'll try heh
   I open the door and get out of the car. I walk into the park, looking around to find the girls. I see ramps and bars on one section in the park but the rest is a regular park. As I continue to walk, I hear laughing and yelling. I soon see the girls on some swings at the playground. Walking up to them, they notice me coming so they start yelling for me to come over which I already was which also confused me
Kai- Savannahhhhh
She raises her arms up as she smiles
Grace- glad you could make it
Natalia- your 'Melanie' said you can come ay
Me- heh yeah, so what are we going to do for hanging out?
Grace- this is it, talk, have fun in the playground while you, Natalia and Jesse can watch Kai and I skating
Jesse- it's better during the night, just a calmer time of the day
Me- it is? Somethings just always happening at night
  I look down, remembering that night Mike took El to "talk", the night that I was scared of El leaving me causing me to stay with Dustin, and the night that I left Mike on accident after falling off the roof of his house.... then I hear
Natalia- really? We think more things happens during the day because uh ya know, school
Kai- that's right heh
   She seems a little nervous at what Natalia hesitated to say at the end.. hm
Grace- can you skate or anything, Savannah?
Me- no, I wasn't ever taught and I didn't know this was a thing until now so heh
   I feel my face heat up a little. Kai puts her arms in front of her and knits her eyebrows together
Kai- Are you for real? This has to be a joke, right?
Me- oh um no, really I don't know what you guys mean by skate
  I look to the side, away from them, feeling their wide eyes on me. Oh no, will they not like me now? I knew I should've observed the other kids at my school more, I don't know what 'skating' is
Natalia- well you'll see now
  I look up to her, confused what she just said
Me- you're still allowing me to stay?
Kai- yeah? Why would we like kick you off just because you don't know?? It's all the more reason for us to show and teach you, right?
  Grace nods
Natalia- alright you two, show her what you can do
Kai and Grace give each other a grin as Jesse rolls her eyes, ending with a smirk anyway. Is this going to be really cool or intense? As we walk towards the ramps and bars, I look at the girls around me. Kai and Grace grab onto their things they call skateboards and starts going back and forth on the ramps. As a few minutes pass, Natalia and Jesse made some jokes that they had to explain which made them laugh even more at my cluelessness. The girls looks so free. I wonder how they got to be here. So much laughter with each other, I can tell they were this close because they all speak as much as the Party' did. Their joy is what I remember having with Mike that one day in the arcade. So many fun games and the one game we didn't understand how we lost even with the team effort. I remember.. wait the pictures of that day. Aw, I hope he still has them to remember me by..
   Anyways, Natalia, Jesse and I go around the playground, messing around with each other, laughing with each other at anything. Man, I really want to hang out more with them. I stop while as we reach Kai and Grace skating again..
Me- hey um can I ask you guys something?
Kai and Grace stop skating to look at me as well as Jesse and Natalia
Natalia- yeah, what's up?
