The Real Truth
Series 3 Chapter 8Harry was reading a book in his library when he heard a thud on the window. Looking up from his book he saw Errol flying back up into view. Confused Harry walked over and opened the windows. Errol flew in and crash landed into a pile of books. Running his hand along the owl's feathers Harry grabbed the letters, four in total. He didn't know why he would be getting letters from the Weasleys of all people but he intended to find out. Errol left without a response and started his flight back to the burrow, not before hitting the wall before making it out of the window.
Harry looked at the letters and saw that two were addressed to him and two were addressed to Hermione. Getting up again, Harry walked over to his twins rooms and peaked in.
"Hermione?" He asked, looking around her bedroom.
There was no response so Harry opened the door to the library, "Mione?"
Emerald green eyes peaked over a large book at Harry, "Harry?"
"We got mail." He told her, holding up the two letters.
"From who?" She asked, getting up and putting her book down.
"The Weasleys."
She hesitated but grabbed her letters. Harry made his way back to his own rooms before plopping down in a comfortable seat and opening the first one.
Harry,
We know this isn't the best to write, we were hoping for a chance to talk to you at the station but you and Hermione left fairly early so we didn't get a chance to. We don't like how things ended this summer, we never meant to give you the feeling that we didn't accept you. With the shock of Ron saying that you joined he-who-must-not-be-named's side and you having his eyes we were torn. We know that you have spoken to Dumbledore and so have we, now we know that Ron was just over reacting and that you haven't actually left us for your father. We also acknowledge that you have changed over the years, and we love you just the way you are right now, always know that you can be yourself around us. You're always welcome at the burrow and will always have a home with us.
The WeasleysHarry was torn. He'd gotten the Weasleys back, even if he still had a hatred for Ron and visa versa, but he hadn't actually gotten them back at the same time. They believed that he was still the light's Golden boy, which he was far from. They accepted who they thought he was, not who he really was. It didn't matter what they said, he could never really be himself around them, which meant he could never have a home with them. For some reason, this didn't bother Harry as much as he thought it would...
Shoving that thought away he opened the other letter, noticing it was from Ginny.
Hey Harry,
I know that mum and dad believe what Dumbledore does, so I know that you'll never really feel at home here anymore seeing as you can never really be yourself, but I want you to know that you can always be yourself around me. I don't care what side you're on, I trust you and I'll continue to trust you. I'll do whatever I can to lead mum or dad astray if they ever start to become suspicious of your true loyalties. Same goes with Hermione.
Ginny WeasleyHarry smiled. At least he still had Ginny, and she wouldn't be afraid to use her famous boogy bat hex on Ron. Harry's smile widened at the thought.
