The Real Truth
Series 4 Chapter 5

After Ron's funeral the summer flew by and it was almost June. Harry had improved by loads in his training, all kinds, dueling, spells knowledge, magical capability, occlumency, and even legilimency, which he'd just started learning. He and Hermione were back to their normal relationship and had even visited the Weasleys, who's moods had taken an upturn, a few more times. No one had found out that Harry was the one to kill Ron and Harry was planning to keep it that way. He'd also been spending a lot more time with the twins and he was starting to feel bad for them, not about Ron's death, but they considered him a friend and Harry would have to eventually betray them, after all, if anyone knew how bad it was to be betrayed by a friend, it was him. Maybe there was a way that he could let them know the truth without having them freak out. They had always been so supportive of his 'darker' side and even had one of their own, but Harry wasn't sure they were actually 'dark' enough to believe him and possibly even join his side. Harry sighed. He got up off the couch and grabbed his broom, being on a broom always helped him clear his mind.

Every day that passed the ball grew closer. Now it was only a week away and Harry and Draco were currently going over robe designs. There were multiple sets of traditional robes that were made and they had to pick out the set they wanted to wear. They had narrowed it down to three different sets, all of them different shades of dark greens. Each one had the customary parts, the dress shirt, the slacks, the shoes, the vest, the tie, and finally the robe. The first set had a white dress shirt with a dark green vest, a white tie, black slacks, black dress shoes, and a dark emerald green robe with subtle designs across it with emerald green thread. The second also had a white dress shirt with a black vest, a black tie, black slacks, black dress shoes, and a deep green robe that had designs done on it in black thread. The third set had a grey dress shirt with a black vest, a dark green tie that matched the robe, black slacks, black dress shoes, and a dark green robe that had designs done on it with grey thread.

"How does this one look?" Harry asked, coming out of the bathroom with the second set on.

"It looks good. The deepness in the green really makes the green in your eyes stand out more." Draco told him.

"What do you think of those?"

Draco looked down at the third set that he currently had on, "I'm not sure that I like the gray undershirt with it. The robe is much too light of a green to be on top of such darker clothes."

"Not those then." Harry said, wandlessly levitating his matching set away.

"No." Draco agreed.

He grabbed the first set again and went into the bathroom to change, they were currently in Harry's rooms.

"How do I look?" Draco asked, coming out and leaning against the door frame, raising his eyebrows up and down.

Harry saw this and chuckled, shaking his head, "You look good."

"As I always do."

Harry rolled his eyes.

"Which one is better?" Draco asked.

"I dunno, let me change into my set of those ones. Then we can see how we look in them together."

Draco nodded and Harry disappeared into the bathroom. At that moment Hermione walked in. Looking around the room she sighed and pulled out her wand, organizing their discard pile into a neat stack.

"Honestly, I thought with you here there would be at least some method of organization." Hermione told Draco.

"I tried, but Harry insists on just tossing things aside." Draco drawled.

Hermione rolled her eyes, "Where is Harry anyway?"

"Changing. We're deciding between the last two robes."

Hermione nodded and a few seconds later Harry came out of the bathroom with the same set as Draco on.

"How do these look? Harry asked.

"Good, though so did the last ones." Draco told him.

"Who's always looking good now?" Harry teased.

Draco scoffed, though a slight smile was on his face.

"Let me see you both." Hermione offered.

Harry and Draco both turned to her and let Hermione observe the robes they had on.

"The robes are nice but the white tie blends in too much with the white shirt, also the emerald thread blends in too much with the darker shade of emerald on the robes, besides the natural brightness of the color emerald deludes Harry's eyes, as well as makes Draco's appear far too blue."

Harry and Draco shared a look. Draco had a very keen sense of style yet he hadn't even noticed half of those.

"Let's try on the other ones again." Draco said, Harry nodding.

They both changed, Harry first, and by the time that Draco had come out Hermione was already nodding.

"These. They brighten Harry's eyes thanks to the deepness in the green and bring out just enough blue in Draco's eyes to make them appear as mist, the black detailing ties in well and is visible enough to be seen but not too visible to be over apparent. The black tie also just makes the whole thing work."

"See, I told you that they made your eyes stand out." Draco said, crossing his arms and putting his nose in the air.

Harry grinned, "Yeah ok."

"Now that that's taken care of, father wants you two downstairs in the apparition room."

Harry and Draco quickly changed out of their robes and back into their regular clothes, set aside their selected robes, and followed Hermione out.

"They're here." Hermione said as soon as she walked in.

"Good." Voldemort said, he gave a small nod towards Lucius.

"The ball room has been set up but the house elves need you to decide between the three different sets of decorations we have picked out."

Harry and Draco nodded, all of them apperating to Malfoy Manor. Harry hardly ever used apperation as a form of travel even though he passed his exam and clutched his stomach in discomfort at the sensation.

"I'm shadowing back." Harry muttered, only being heard by Hermione who poorly held in a laugh.

Lucius barked a name Harry didn't recognize and a house elf appeared before them.

"What can Beaty do for Master?" The elf asked.

"I have brought Draco and Hadrian to approve the decorations."

Beaty smiled and turned to the two, "Young Master, Young Master's mate, Beaty will show you the decorations."

Harry and Draco followed the house elf towards one of the many tables set up. Hermione walked around the room in awe, she hadn't ever been in a ballroom except for when the Great Hall was transformed into one for the Yule Ball, which wasn't nearly as breathtaking as this. Voldemort and Lucius stood in comfortable silence, watching their kids.
