The Real Truth
Series 3 Chapter 9Harry and Hermione made their way down to the front entrance. Lucius would be apperating Draco and Narcissa to the edge of the manor's wards instead of the apparition room so that they could be added in. Since neither Draco or Narssisa were in the Inner Circle they weren't key'd to the manors wards. If they were to enter them before being added they'd die in ten seconds unless they left them. Voldemort would meet them at the front entrance, key them, then lead them up to the grand entrance.
Harry and Hermione waited in the entrance hall. Voldemort had already left, meaning that the Malfoy's were here, but it would take a good ten minutes to key them to the wards and another five to walk through the front grounds up to the double doors that opened to where they were waiting.
"What do you think it's going to be like?" Hermione asked.
"Huh?"
"Having dinner with the Malfoy's. It seemed so civil and unreal."
Harry snorted, "Hermione, just because people on the dark side of the war tend to be a bit insane doesn't mean they don't know how to behave themselves."
Hermione rolled her eyes, "That's not what I meant-"
She was cut off however, by the opening of the grand double doors. Voldemort swept in followed by Lucius, Narisissa, and Draco. Knowing that this was a formal meeting Harry walked up and bowed his head to them.
"Lord and Lady Malfoy, it is a pleasure to have you here." He said.
"The pleasure is all ours, Heir Slytherin." Lucius said in return with a full bow, Narisissa joining him.
Draco raised an eyebrow at Harry who raised one back.
"Please, call me Harry... or Hadrian, whichever you prefer." Harry decided.
He never really understood why he kept going by Harry after finding out that it was his adopted name. It was just easier than telling everyone who'd been calling him "Harry" for years to now call him Hadrian. Maybe a part of him, the part that was still that manipulated little boy, just wanted to hang onto something from his past. Though Harry knew that he'd never want to go back. He may have lost friends and people he cared about, and he may have to live in hiding for the rest of his life, but it was better now than it ever was before. Hermione was surprised at Harry actually welcoming the use of his birth name. He always seemed to get annoyed when the Professors called him by it.
Lucius smirked, "Then I insist that you call me Lucius, Hadrian."
"I also insist that you call me Narsissa or Cissy. After all, we are practically family." Narsissa said.
"Of course." Harry said with a nod.
Lucius and Narcissa left the room after Voldemort leaving Harry, Draco, and Hermione alone.
"Since when did you know formal manners?" Draco asked.
"Since always." Harry replied.
"Yeah right, with the way you used to stuff your face at dinner I'd be surprised that you used to know any manners at all." Hermione retorted.
