The Real Truth
Series 2 Chapter 9

Harry shadowed back to Ron's room and changed before shadowing outside and walking in the front door. He thought it was best not to give everyone a scare.

"Harry! You're back!" Hermione said, giving him a hug.

"Yeah."

"What was the event?" Ron asked.

"Just a celebration of some sort." Harry said with a shrug.

"What would they be celebrating?" Ginny said curiously.

"I dunno." Harry told her. He got a skeptical look from Hermione, "I better go take a nap if I want to be awake for when Dumbledore picks me up."

Harry made his way up to Ron's room. He wasn't tired but he couldn't risk any questions on what had happened. He was just planning to read when the door opened.

"Harry?" Hermione walked in.

"Yeah 'Mione?"

"You trust me right?"

"Of course."

"Then... I know you haven't been going to Draco's everyday for hours, and I know you're purposely not telling us what happened today."

Harry froze.

"Why won't you tell me what's really going on?"

Harry but his lip, "You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."

"Try me."

Harry hesitated. After a while he pulled out his wand and put up a silencing charm.

"Harry-! You can't use magic! You're underaged and we're not in Hogwarts!"

"Yes, I can. It's a long story but you wanted the truth."

Harry locked the door with every spell he knew then enhanced the silencing charm.

"I'm going to tell you something, but no one else can know. You have to promise me to keep this a secret."

Hermione nodded, "Ok, I promise."

"The night before our birthday I went to Gringotts and got all of my memories back. When I did I finally learned the truth about everything. The full prophecy told of the heir of Voldemort, who would either defeat him or give him the power to win. The ending was never set in stone. When we were at the Department of Mysteries I shattered the prophecy and refused to kill Voldemort. We know both sides of the story and when got my memories back, they confirmed everything Voldemort said. Dumbledore took us when we were little and killed our mother. Then, due to a tip from Peter Pettigrew, he killed Voldemort the night he came to take me back. He then sent me to be abused by the Dursley's. By the time we arrived at Hogwarts we were both easy for Dumbledore to manipulate. You said that you had to talk the hat into sorting your Gryffindor instead of Ravenclaw. I had to talk it into putting me into Gryffindor instead of Slytherin. If it weren't for the compulsions placed on us our we would've gone to our true houses. Dumbledore tricked both of us into hating and fighting our father, he's trying to get me to kill him still. Dumbledore ruined both of our lives."
