Series 4 Chapter 3
Harry shadowed into the room connecting his and Hermione's, letting his glamour drop.
"Harry!" Hermione ran up and hugged him.
"Hey Hermione..."
Hermione pushed away, grabbing Harry's shoulders, and looking at him sternly.
"What happened?"
Harry stiffened, "What?"
"Your voice sounded off. What happened? Did you get hurt or something?!"
"No. No, I wasn't the one who got hurt..."
Hermione's eyes widened, "Did something happen to Draco? Bellatrix? Sirius? Remus? Ton-"
"Ron, Hermione. Something happened to Ron. All of the Weasleys were there."
Hermione dropped her hands slowly, "What happened to him?"
"He's... well... he was hit with a misfired spell..."
"Harry..." Hermione said warningly.
"He's dead. Ron, Ron was killed, by a misfired killing curse from one of the Death Eaters."
"How do you know it was misfired?" Hermione asked.
"Because, I- I saw the whole thing. It was someone from the second circle, but I don't know who."
"Did, did anything happen to anyone else?"
"Moody was killed. The only survivors were the rest of the Weasley family, Sirius, Tonks, Remus, and Dumbledore. Along with some arours that showed up and a couple muggles."
Hermione fell silent for a moment, "Ginny's alright, right?"
"Yeah, Ginny's fine."
Hermione fell silent again and walked over to one of the sofas.
"Hermione, you ok?" Harry asked hesitantly, walking over to sit next to her.
"Yeah... yes, yes I'm fine. It's just..." she turned to look at Harry, "I never expected for Ron to die."
"Me neither, at least, not like that... but, if you really think about it, he deserved it. Ron was a git."
"Just because someone's a git doesn't mean they deserve to die, Harry."
"I know that, but he was more than a git. He wouldn't listen to reason, he was arrogant, he always blamed someone else for his actions, he was even just ready to toss away his best friend just like that."
Hermione took a deep breath, "He still didn't deserve to die. If that was the case for all pigs Draco would be dead by now."
"Draco is not a pig. He was a kid Hermione. Kids are stupid and do stupid things. Ron was of age."
"Yes but-"
"Hermione." Harry interrupted her, "We can't do anything about it. Ron's dead and there's no way he can come back."
