The Real Truth
Series 2 Chapter 4
Harry bolted up, his head immediately pounded and Harry regretted his choice. After the pounding let up he looked around and realized he was on the floor in the room he'd been in before. Ragnok stood to his right. Harry thought back to what he'd just seen, his fists clenched. Dumbledore had killed his mother, only, she didn't have a way to come back. Everything made sense. Dumbledore had taken them because he'd been afraid. Afraid of Voldemort and afraid of Harry. He'd be more powerful then the both of them, Harry would be the cause of one of their deaths. That's what made him a target. Being the first born twin Harry was the heir, "the dark prince", as some inner circle death eaters would call him. Dumbledore had tried to raise him as "the savior" instead, but he had failed. Harry had back all of his memories now, he knew everything. He knew why Voldemort hated muggles. They were weak, and feared what they did not understand. The Wizarding ways didn't make sense to them so they came in and changed it through muggle borns. That was also why Pure-Bloods taunted them and acted all high and mighty, they respected the wizarding ways and fought to keep them. It was like how different countries have different cultures Harry reasoned. He wouldn't go to Sweden or Germany and demand that they speak English, and that was basically what muggle borns were doing. Voldemort noticed this and decided to do something about it, using "Dark Magic" to reach his goals. The Wizarding ways should be protected. If someone new is confused by them they should become accustomed with them, and if wizards wanted to be like muggles so much they could snap their wands and give up magic.
Harry shuddered. He couldn't believe how much his views had changed throughout the last year. It scared him. Though, Harry knew one thing, he would make Dumbledore pay.
When Harry shadowed to the burrow the clock had just hit 12:00. He smiled sleepily, it was his birthday. He looked over at Ron who laid sleeping in his bed. Harry grimaced. He couldn't share with anyone what he'd discovered. If they found out his viewpoints had changed, they'd send him back to the Dursley's and alert Dumbledore. Harry removed his robes, changing into pajamas, and laid down. He'd just closed his eyes when he heard a scream from upstairs. Instinctively, Harry was on his feet and shadowing to Hermione, recognizing the scream as her's.
"What happened?!" Harry yelled as soon as he burst into the room.
"I don't know! I-I was sleeping when Hermione screamed and it jolted me awake!" Ginny panicked.
Harry was on the floor at his sisters side. He felt her twitching, but she had obviously passed out. Harry got a pretty good idea of what was going on. He calmed Ginny down and told the others what had happened when the arrived. After awhile Hermione stopped twitching, but she was still passed out. An owl flew into the window Harry had opened. A faint smile came as he realized it was from Gringotts. He walked over and grabbed the letter, the owl took off.
"I told you all." Harry said waving the letter around.
Ginny rolled her eyes at him, though her grip on her pillow loosened. Around twenty minutes later Hermione started to wake up.
"Wha-What happened?" She asked, a bit dazed.
"Congratulations 'Mione. You got your creatures inheritance a year early." Harry told her and held out the letter.
A little too quickly Hermione sat up, she winced, but nonetheless reached out and grabbed the letter from Harry.
"Well then," Molly said clapping her hands, "I believe a trip to Gringotts is in order."
Hermione and Harry grinned.
After the long wait for Ragnok to take them to the room, Hermione slit her finger and allowed the designated drops of blood to fall onto the parchment. She watched as from the drops words started to appear.
Hermione Jean Granger
Creature inheritance - Animagus, Veela
Animagus Form - Unknown - 10%
Veela - 43%
Mate - Ginevra Weasley
Hermione's jaw dropped and she snatched up the parchment. She re-read her mate over and over. Sure she'd felt weird ever since waking up, and she could smell Ginny's shampoo very strongly, but she'd thought the first was just from receiving her creature's inheritance, while the second was because she'd been by Ginny, even if the smell was very strong. She shook her head.
"What?" Harry asked.
Hermione, hesitantly, showed him the piece of parchment.
Harry's eyes widened, "For the love of Merlin..."
"What is it?" Ron asked from behind them.
Hermione looked over at Harry who gave her a reassuring nod. Hermione took a breath before she handed the parchment over to Ron. Ron passed Molly, who passed it to Arthur, who paced it to the twins, who, finally, gave it to Ginny. She read it and her face went blank. After awhile she looked up at Hermione. They made direct eye contact and something clicked within both their minds.
"Never saw that one coming." Ron said.
Harry elbowed him in the ribs.
"I'm not gay." Was all Ginny said before she handed the parchment back to Hermione, "Sorry."
Hermione laughed, "Oh please, I know that very well. Besides, you way too much of a sister to me for me to ever think of you as my mate."
Ginny gave a small smile, "So we're good?"
"Yeah."
Harry wanted to tell them that ignoring it wouldn't make it any better but he refrained from doing so. Instead they all went back to the burrow and celebrated Harry and Hermione's birthday. Harry, crashing early do to his lack of sleep.
Soooo... Yeah. I was very hesitant on posting this chapter because I was afraid that Hermione x Ginny would get a lot of hate, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that Hermione and Ginny being mates had a big impact on the future plot and I think it was a good decision to go with my gut.
