The Real Truth
Series 1 Chapter 18

Harry made his way down to Hogsmeade with Ron and Hermione. He'd been woken up extremely early from another dream and was looking forward to sleeping on the train, if he could even fall asleep. Once the three of them boarded they had no trouble finding an empty compartment and stuffing their trunk away on the racks above them. Harry, as always, took his seat next to the window, Hermione across from him, Ron next to her. It always seemed to end up like this on the train, although sometimes Hermione would sit by Harry instead. The train started to pull away and Harry watched as Hogwarts disappeared from view and was replaced with rolling hills of grass plains. The compartment door flew open and Draco plopped down on the seat next to Harry.

"Why are you here?" Ron asked.

"Can't someone just sit in a compartment with a friend?" Draco shot at him.

"You're not my friend." Ron told him.

"I wasn't referring to you weasel."

"Ferret."

"For the love of Merlin can you two spend just five seconds without fighting?" Harry said exasperated.

"I will if he will." Ron said.

Draco scoffed, causing Harry rolled his eyes. His hopes for sleep now shattered.

"How come you're not with Blaise? Isn't he spending Christmas with you guys?" Harry asked him.

"How do you even know that Harry?!" Ron exclaimed.

Harry rolled his eyes, "The lessons you dropped out of."

Ron looked over at Hermione who nodded. Though it wasn't true, and she knew that but she was also smart enough to know that Harry and Draco had gotten together, only they didn't seem to want anyone to know, and she would help keep the secret, even if they didn't know she knew it.

"Yeah, but he's always with Pansy and I just can't deal with her right now."

Harry shook his head, "Just tell her she needs to back off."

"Oohohoo~ getting jealous now aren't we Potter?" Draco joked.

"You wish Malfoy."

Ron looked to Hermione for help but she was fighting to hold in her laughter. Ron could be so dense sometimes. The train ride continued and Draco eventually left, getting too annoyed with Ron.

"I'd rather be pestered by a screechy voiced girl then be in the same compartment as this blood traitor." He said before leaving.

Ron crossed his arms triumphantly and Harry sighed. It was a lost cause trying to get Draco and Ron to get along. Harry drifted off to sleep, being shaken awake by Ron when they stopped.

"Mate, we gotta go."

Groggily, Harry lifted down his trunk and walked with Ron, up to the Weasleys.

"Hey Bill." Harry said with a wave. He hadn't seen the older Weasley in almost a year.

"Hey Harry." He waved back.
