The Real Truth
Series 3 Chapter 10When they reached the dining room Voldemort was sitting at the head of the table, as always, with Lucius and Narsissa sitting to his right side. Harry and Hermione took their usual seats across from them on their fathers left while Draco sat next to his mother.
"How considerate of you three to finally join us." Voldemort said, sneering on the word 'considerate'.
Draco didn't move his head but his eyes looked down, the dark lord still terrified him. Harry, on the other hand, just shrugged.
"Then, before we eat there are the matters of the family celebration as well as the announcement ball." Voldemort stated, moving on from his children's and Draco's tardiness.
"We will be able to host both my lord." Lucius told him, "Only those who are on your side will be invited to the family gathering."
Voldemort nodded, "As for the ball, it is tradition that every pure-blood family is invited. Unfortunately, not every pure-blooded Wizarding family sees things the way I do. Because of this, I as well as my well known and wanted Death Eaters, will be attending it under a glamour."
"If it's tradition to invite every pure-blood family to events like this, how come the Weasleys have never been invited?" Harry asked.
"The Weasleys' blood is tainted by their love of muggles. They hardly count are pure bloods and should be thrown out of our world completely seeing as they're-"
"That is quite enough Lucius." The dark lord interrupted him, "The Weasleys', while being the muggle loving people they are, are still pure-bloods. As much as I despise it we must hold up traditions, so they will be invited. I am not surprised that you didn't manage to hold up this tradition, looking at the others you clearly forgot."
That shut Lucius up real quick.
"Besides, my children have wished to defy me and befriend the youngest Weasley child, Gwen I believe. It would be unfitting to not have her at my son's announcing his mate."
Harry rolled his eyes at Voldemort pretending to care about Ginny's name. It wasn't Gwen but Ginevra, Ginny or Gin (as Harry sometimes called her) for short.
"Ginevra is a great friend." Harry stated, "She was the only one who still trusted me after Ron mouthed off."
"Yes... out of all the people you could've befriended you chose a family of blumbering Gryffindors."
"I'm a Gryffindor." Harry reminded him.
"Yet another unfortunate outcome of the compulsions Dumbledore placed upon you and your sister."
Harry rolled his eyes.
"Let us move on from your horrendous choices of friends and discuss the family gathering." Everyone nodded and he continued, "Normally it is held two weeks after the dinner, but two weeks after today you three will be in Hogwarts. Now, because of that we will need to get the three of you out of there. Draco, you will receive a letter from your parents requesting you home on Sunday for an important family emergency sometime within the week prior. Dumbledore will be forced to let you go. As for you two," He turned to Harry and Hermione, "You will use your time turner to be here, seeing as I cannot write to Dumbledore, thus revealing that you two know everything."
