"Good plan, I haven't had a good walk at the park for so long. I miss it. We should." Sooyun agreed, looking at Jieun for confirmation.
"Ah, I do need to buy a new jacket for myself. I kind of gave one away." Jieun said. Sooyun looked at her in confusion as they began to walk out of the apartment. "I saw this homeless man on the streets when I was going out last night so I decided to give him some stuff," Jieun explained.
"Aww," Sooyun responded, the action making her feel joyous. She was a sucker for charitable things like giving away something for someone who needs it the most.
"Look at that. Our Jieun is out here being a good person and doing good things. We should be more like her, amiright?" Yunseo said, smiling. Jieun humbly waved it off like nothing and moved on.
The three close friends travelled to the mall, all excited to shop and buy some new things. Jieun thought about how glad she was for having this friendship with Sooyun and Yunseo, where they do everything in their power to make one another feel better if they aren't.
She had met them during her first year at high school when everyone in her year was just as new to everything as she was. When all of the students who used to be at the top, were all the way at the bottom and had to climb up year by year. But of course, there were those students that fit in with everyone, no matter who they are with or where they are. Jieun wasn't that. But she also wasn't the stereotypical shy girl or that nerdy girl that always seems to get bullied every day. She was just, average.
Everyone knew her, but no one actually cared about her and just left her alone.
So Jieun was by herself for a bit, except for the times she would randomly hang out with some weird students she knew from her classes. Those were strange times for her. But she soon managed to make friends with Yunseo, who was a year above Jieun. They quickly became good friends as they clicked well and soon became best friends.
Yunseo was also well-known at school as the smart and pretty girl. She was a popular girl at high school. Yunseo introduced Jieun to more people, which meant more friends. And that also meant Jieun met Sooyun. Sooyun wasn't very close with Yunseo at first, but when they got introduced to Jieun, everything suddenly seemed to fit together. Soon, all three of them were close with one another and stuck with each other for the rest of their years.
And now they were here, at the mall with their own lives and their own partners and soon-to-be partners with their own places, still as close as before, if not closer.

"So... what do you think of this?" Jieun asked, holding up a striped white and light blue crop top that tied at the bottom. She took out another clothing item, this time a goldish yellow top. It was sleeveless, with a wavy hem.
"I like both of them," Sooyun commented, glancing at Jieun's choices before looking back at her own. She carried quite a few assortments of clothes, all hanging neatly on a pile on her arm. And she was planning to buy them all.
"Hmm... okay cool. I'm just gonna look at the dresses over there," Jieun said pointing at the section full of a variety of dresses, next to hangers with rompers and jumpsuits.
"I'm actually gonna come with you Jieun," Yunseo said, also walking to the dress aisle. She stood next to Jieun, who was looking at a cute summer romper despite saying she was going to look at dresses. Yunseo had six clothes, three pairs of pants/shorts and three tops to match.
"Oh wait! I just realised Sooyun's birthday is about a week from today, and then it'll be yours soon after." Yunseo exclaimed. Jieun gasped, suddenly realising as well. She had had so much on her plate she almost forgot about Sooyun's birthday and hers. Sooyun would be turning twenty-three, the same age as Jieun, although she would be turning twenty-four when her birthday came around.
"Oh my god. You're right. I can't believe I almost forgot until you mentioned it." Jieun replied, making eye contact with Yunseo briefly. She looked over at Sooyun, who was going crazy with shopping. "We need to surprise her for her birthday."
Yunseo winked at Jieun, grinning excitedly. "Yes!"
"What're you two gossiping about huh?" Sooyun asked jokingly, wrapping her arms around her two best friends.
"Oh, nothing." Yunseo covered up, still smiling. Jieun eyed Yunseo with a knowing look.
