Jieun realised that the only option to get out of this situation without being harmed was to play into her ex's hands. To pretend to still be in love with him.

It was a risky move, but it was better than anything else she could do at that moment.

But Jieun weighed the other side: the consequences.

Well, for one, there was a literal gun pointed to her neck with no chance to miss, all ready and loaded. All he had to do was press the trigger and it was all over for her. Jieun was scared to lose her life, especially because there were reasons for her to live. Like Sooyun and Yunseo and everybody who cared about her.

But although it would probably fail miserably and she would die, Jieun had to take that slight chance it did. This was a matter of her life on the edge. Either she died or she had a chance of escape. Surely anyone who truly wanted to live would choose the chance to escape?

So she tried.

Jieun began spewing bullshit out of her mouth, beginning to fully go back into panic mode whe she tried looking down and saw the gun, fingers placed on the trigger, ready to shoot.

"NO NO WAIT! Don't shoot, I'm begging you. " she pleaded, half-acting and the other not really acting.

"You can't shoot me... please I- just... let me explain." a small moment of silence followed after Jieun's words.

"Fine. Eight seconds. Hurry up."

"I-I... just regret breaking up with you. It was a dumb mistake and it hurts me to see how much it pained you when I did. I was just so... angry that day. I wanted to get back with you but I thought you wouldn't accept me back. It was stupid of me. And those things I said? It was my family. They told me all these things about you and I shouldn't have accused you when I knew you were innocent." Jieun said, rushing all the words out before her eight seconds were over. A small prayer of apology was sent to her family since she used them in her lie. She crossed her fingers desperately (mentally, of course), hoping he would believe her trick and an opening for her escape would show itself.

It was apparently just convincing enough that he believed her and loosened his grip on her ever so slightly in his surprise and disbelief.

"Really?" he asked in a small voice. Jieun knew he was thinking how dumb she was for believing him and that she had fallen right for the bait.

"I... I mean... yeah. I really do still love you. I guess I was never really over you when I left." she said, still acting. Jieun couldn't believe he fell for it. It's so... dumb. No, HE's so dumb. How come I didn't notice this when I was dating him? She thought to herself.

She felt a gradual loosening of his grip as he became excited and happy. It was ironic how the manipulator was so easily manipulated.

Jieun felt herself turning around to face him and at that moment, Jieun had to, one, find a way to get the gun away from him, and two, escape. Even if it means shooting him in self-defense and calling the police.

A wicked grin replaced her expression as she realised she could finally kick the shit out of him for once.

Manoeuvering herself to grab his wrist and rotate it the other way, the gun now faced away from her body. Jieun proceeded to knee him in the balls with all her force, making him screech in pain. When he crouched down to bare with the ache of never having babies ever again, the shotgun clattered onto the ground. Jieun picked it up, her hands shaking.

She knocked him unconscious using the back of the gun, a sickening crunch following shortly after. The blow was just enough to completely incapacitate him. With his unconscious body on the ground, Jieun quickly put the gun on the ground and inhaled, looking at the male's body. Her eyes glimmered with fear and relief as she dialled 119 and they dispatched police forces.

They arrived quickly since this was a serious case. The police took the matter into their hands, questioning everything about what happened. After a series of questions were asked, they told Jieun that they would take her ex back for questioning and handcuffed him, bringing him into the car while he was still out cold. He was laid on his back in the car, taking the entire backseat while two officers sat in front.

A concerned policewoman offered to escort the extremely scared Jieun back home after the police took the evidence and were about to leave. She was very thankful for the offer. Grabbing the nearly forgotten food items, Jieun gladly agreed but not before requesting a favour.

"Can you please drop me off at this lamp where a homeless guy sleeps? I kinda have something for him." she asked.

The policewoman seemed reluctant to at first, probably wanting to drop her back at home as soon as possible, but agreed. Jieun's eyes lit up and she thanked the other woman, hopping into the car. She drove Jieun, who passionately told the officer to stop when they reached the lamp where the homeless man slept. He was luckily still there.

Jieun then got out of the car, under surveillance by the police officer, who stayed near her. Taking out the packet of chips, fruits and the water bottle, she delicately wrapped them in her jacket, which she took off and was now cold as a result. She stuck the note inside with the food and drink, as well as a tiny amount of money and headed back around, into the police car. Finally, Jieun got home still unable to forget everything prior to her generous donation but feeling a little better about herself.

How are you guys doing?

I'm a little tired ngl but maybe that's because I had like barely any sleep last night-

This stupid helicopter was flying directly above my house at 1 in the morning and let's just say I was not happy
