Sooyun sighed to herself, trudging down the hallway. She was feeling particularly lazy today, for no good reason. Just tired, she guessed. At the moment the only thing to feel happy about was the fact her brother was home, which was incredible news, and also, it's her birthday. Now she had to get off her bed to go to the front door and see why her brother was excited, which was not good for someone who feels lazy. She kept her eyes down at the ground, not bothering to look up when she reached the front door.

"Alright, what is it-" Sooyun was cut off by the deafening sound of party poppers popping and obnoxious party horns. She was taken aback by the sound, looking up quickly before staring into the seven friendly pairs of eyes. A chorus of happy birthdays and hugs followed Sooyun's surprise.

"Happy birthday Sooyun!" Chan said, giving Sooyun a peck on the lips. She smiled to him adoringly.

"I would hug you but I have a box of cake in my arms."

Soonyoung scoffed at Jieun's words. "Oh, and you have the time to throw the cake into my arms while you go hug Joshua, but not Sooyun. Woooow." he snatched the cake box out of Jieun's arms, leaving her no reason not to, not that Jieun would complain. Jieun wrapped Sooyun in a hug, not letting go for seven seconds.

"You have confetti in your hair. Just wanted to point that out." Yunseo said, plucking several shiny bits off.

"You guys! You didn't have to do this..."

"It's your birthday, of course we have to!" Jieun retorted. She reclaimed the cake from Soonyoung before handing it to Sooyun. Sooyun gave her a 'thanks' in reply.

"You guys are gonna make me emotional. Just wait until I start crying in the middle of dinner because of you all-" Sooyun murmured, gaining a couple of laughs from everyone. She felt the warm embrace from the love and attention she felt. It was all she needed this year.

"Anyway! Should we come inside?" Soonyoung asked.

"Oh yes, please, come in." Sooyun gestured towards the door.

"Honestly, this is all I could ever ask for on my birthday. Friends, my brother returning to surprise me on this day and a good, delicious cake." Sooyun enthused. "You knew your stuff when you picked this cake for me Jieun."

She stuffed another bite of goodness in her mouth, pointing towards Jieun gratefully. Everyone was currently situated in Sooyun's living room, either standing or sitting on the couches centered in a tidy spot inside the room. There was a pile of presents on the floor of lounge, since there wasn't really a good enough spot to place them where everyone could see.

Since it was a bit too warm outside, the cream inside the cake and on top of it had started to melt. Deciding it was the best course of action, rather than waiting longer to eat it, they made the decision to just sing Happy Birthday and cut the cake. Yunseo had decided to be annoying by blowing out the candles right after it got lit, meaning Soonyoung would have to retry. This continued for at least thirty seconds before Sooyun threatened to chop her, not specifying what she would chop with, while menacingly holding the cake knife. Jieun enjoyed every second of it, watching with amusement. At least the cake still tasted good by the end of it and Yunseo was not dead.

"So, what were you planning to do for my birthday?" Sooyun asked, placing her plastic plate on the coffee table.

"Well, I was thinking of just staying here for a couple of hours and when we felt like it, to go out for dinner somewhere and maybe go to the arcade for a bit. And if we wanted, we could come back hereafter." Jieun replied, looking at Soonyoung as if for confirmation.

"Okay. Yeah, sure. That sounds fine to me, as long as everyone else doesn't mind."

"I'm fine with it." Jun remarked, getting a few nods of agreement from Yunseo, Soonyoung and Minghao. Others verbally agreed but in the end, it was obvious no one really minded what happened, just as long as they spent the Sooyun's birthday together.

"That says it. We'll stay here for now before we decide where to go for dinner." Sooyun stated.
