Ring ding dong, ring ding dong, ring diggy ding diggy ding ding ding-

Jieun's eyes flew open.

Just as suddenly as she opened her eyes, they were closed. Jieun rotated her body around as she was staring directly into the sunlight before. Her brain took a while to comprehend the blaring music coming from the room next door. So it finally begins. She thought to herself.

At this moment, Jieun cursed the thin walls, wishing she could have slept through this instead of waking up. But the music only seemed to get more obnoxious and loud by the second...

Ring ding dong, ring ding dong, ring diggy ding diggy ding ding ding...

"What the hell... wait- is that Ring Ding Dong by SHINee??" she murmured, her hoarse voice barely heard in the midst of the SHINee song that played. As the now-fully awakened Jieun listened to the music, trying her best to ignore the fact she was going deaf by the second, she could only confirm- yes, this is Ring Ding Dong by SHINee.

"I mean- iconic, but come on- I just want my sleep..." Jieun complained, as if talking to herself would tell her neighbour to shut up and stop playing music.

But even if she tried to sleep it would just never happen, she was already wide awake.

So she took out her phone texting one of her friends Sooyun that she would be coming around to her place today. She simply couldn't stand herself being in this apartment when this thunderous music was playing. Jieun needed to escape for now.

...

You could also tell Jieun that she should knock on her neighbour's door and ask them kindly to turn the volume of their music down but Jieun was stubborn with sticking to her decision of not making any potential enemies on the first full day of her staying in her new apartment.

After a couple of minutes of brushing teeth and finding a suitable outfit to wear, Jieun was ready to go.

Apparently her Uber wasn't ready so Jieun waited patiently, enduring the earsplitting decibels thrown at her.

So after a few more minutes of her waiting for her Uber driver to text her and tell her that she was here to pick Jieun up, she finally left.

The young woman closed the front door behind her, leaving the building but still having Ring Ding Dong playing in a never ending cycle in her head. As she hopped into the car, she subconsciously began to hum the song, before realising what she was doing and stopping herself. Now she sat in silence, not daring to make small talk with her driver.

After the dreadfully awkward silence of the car ride, Jieun faced the apartment complex in which her friend lived in.

After climbing the many stairs and realising that there was an elevator, causing her to mentally slap herself, Jieun made it to Sooyun's. Before she rang the doorbell that was installed next to the door, she took the time to take a breather since the stairs tired her out.

Jieun reached out to ring the doorbell and she could hear the sound of it ringing on the inside. The sound of footsteps approached the door from the other side and it opened to reveal a smiley young woman.

It was Sooyun.

Jieun couldn't hold back her smile and she grinned to Sooyun. After a few seconds of silence as they did nothing but smile like a bunch of idiots, Sooyun welcomed Jieun inside before jumping onto the latter and holding her in a tight hug.

Jieun let out a groan, squished to death.

"Ewwwww. Get offffff-" Jieun pulled a fake disgusted look, pushing Sooyun off jokingly. Her behaviour contradicted the emotions she was feeling on the inside. The joyous feeling of meeting with a friend that you hadn't seen in a while was the one she felt at this very moment.

Jieun was soon clinging onto her best friend once again.

"Haha, jokes-" she said, sending a wink to the girl, giggling. Sooyun rolled her eyes at Jieun.
"I hate you-"
"Love you too~" Jieun sent more finger hearts and winks to Sooyun, ignoring the younger who was now annoyed.
"Of course you do." Sooyun's iconic smile reappeared on her face as she broke character. The two laughed, sharing this happy moment together.

"Oh- well look at you two, starting the party without me already," a voice piped up from behind the two girls, startling them.
