The first thought that came to mind when Jieun made eye contact with the man was that he was very attractive. She simply could not stop staring. He had such a presence that drew her to him. Perhaps it was because he was so handsome? Or maybe it was the friendly smile he gave her, one that was also represented in his eyes.

Jieun wasn't the type of girl to swoon over any boy she saw, not saying that all girls are like that. But it still shocked her, since she was never this nervous with anyone. Not even her ex could compare to the visuals of this man. But that was an unfair statement.

Anyone could make zero effort and still manage to be more attractive than him.

Jieun didn't return the smile that was given to her by the young man that stood outside her door. She snapped out of her thoughts and looked at the other with a blank face.

"Do you need something?" Jieun asked, tilting her head questioningly at the man outside.

His face remained unchanged, still wearing that smile, and he replied to her blunt question. "I just wanted to say hello. I'm your neighbour and I learnt that you were new to the place so I wanted to introduce myself to you." Jieun nodded slowly when he pointed to his left. Oh. You're that neighbour huh.

"Well it's nice to meet you, I'm Jieun."

"You have a very pretty name."

She widened her eyes at his direct compliment before responding politely. "Oh. Thank you, you're very kind."

"Thanks. A lot of people say that about me." the female subconsciously smiled back, unable to resist at his nature. The male suddenly gasped.

"What?" In order to keep her calm attitude, Jieun realised that she had been smiling too much and stopped.

"So today I discovered a word that I thought might describe me best but everyone who calls me friendly and nice and adorable seems to think not." he pouted.

"Which word is it?"

"Fuckboy." Hey what the fuck- he really just exposed himself like that I-

"Excuse me?" Jieun stared at him in a mix of confusion and horror.

"I'm a male that says fuck. You know... fuckboy." A breath of relief left her mouth, even though her mind was still filled with questions.

So he wasn't going to ask for my number and tell me a cringey pick up line. Thank god. But how in the frickity frick did he manage to come to that conclusion with that word-

"Sweetie, that's not what it means..." Jieun replied. I mean- how do you even think it means that?

It was now his turn to look at Jieun in confusion.

"Huh?"

"Boi- a fuckboy is a guy who fucks around with girls and does the frickle frackle with them..."

"..." he seemed to take in what she just said. "Oh. Ohhh- OHHHHHHH." an expression of realisation crossed his face and his face turned red. "Oh my god, I'm so embarrassed for thinking it was- I'm so sorry. I'll be on my way, please pretend you never saw me and forget I even existed, I can't believe this just happened!" he quickly left, mumbling to himself about how he was so ashamed.

There was a thud as the door next to hers closed quickly. Jieun was left by herself wondering what just happened. Her neighbour may be more interesting than she anticipated. After a few seconds of standing by herself replaying that scene over and over again, Jieun realised something.

"Wait. I didn't get his name." It was a definite fact that he probably didn't want to face her after that embarrassing moment. She turned around and walked back inside her house, realising that her pancakes had gone cold.

"Oh no... my pancakes..."

R.I.P pancakes ;(
