They stayed like that for a few more seconds, before Jieun let go, heart beating rapidly. She felt her cheeks grow hot, not sure if she was visibly blushing or not. Her mind was suddenly busy with thoughts and she entertained them, not noticing Soonyoung taking off the hoodie again and slipping it on her, until the last moment.
"Hey!"

"At least you worked with me this time," Soonyoung said, rolling his eyes playfully. Jieun raised her eyebrow at him, not bothering to take it off. Soonyoung was now wearing a white shirt with some print on it and ripped denim jeans. His hair was slightly messed up, because of the hoodie being put on and back off, which Jieun found kind of cute. She was somewhat disappointed when he smoothed it back down.

Everyone was now inside the apartment, sitting back on the couch. Sooyun had resumed the movie from earlier and now everyone was watching. It was a room of silence as everyone gave the show their full attention. The room was tinted different colours, a result of the light shining from the screen onto the curtains in the dimly lit room.

Jieun sat, legs crossed snugly, back straight as she watched. Her mouth was slightly open as she was basically blanking out by paying such close attention to just the tv. Soonyoung noticed this, thinking it was kind of cute how she was watching so intently. Jieun turned to look at Soonyoung, who was staring with an amused face. She closed her mouth and gave him a questioning look. Soonyoung shrugged and turned back to the movie, leaning back into the couch, practically sinking in.

Sooyun suddenly stood up in the middle of the movie, walking over to Yunseo, Minghao, Jun, and Soonyoung.

"Can you guys just with me for a second?" she whispered to them, earning a few curious glances from Jieun, who sat next to Soonyoung and Jun. She was quickly back to watching the movie, as she wanted to keep up with the plot.

The five of them walked into the dark hallway, into one of the rooms. Sooyun turned on the light, closing the curtains as she hadn't done that earlier and shut the door. She turned around to look at the other four, who were sitting on the spare bed in the room.

"Okay. So, you're probably wondering why I've asked you guys to come here."

"To murder us?" Jun joked. Sooyun didn't answer immediately to play along. Yunseo widened her eyes.

"Sooyun...?"

"I'm joking, I'm not going to murder you guys," Sooyun assured. Minghao stared at her dubiously.

"Mhm... totally," Minghao said, dragging out the syllables of each word. Yunseo gently slapped him.

"Don't even say that!" she whisper-yelled to him in horror. Minghao chuckled at her, wrapping his right arm around her to comfort her. Everyone else kind of just stared at them, amused. Minghao and Yunseo turned back to face the rest of the group.

"So what did you bring us in here for if it wasn't to murder us?" Jun asked. Sooyun was suddenly faced with curious eyes.

"Well..." she started to say. "I've- no, we've been thinking of how to surprise Jieun for her birthday, y'know, since it's coming up in literally two days. So I just brought you here to ask if you guys could participate with the prep, cause I really want to make this year a lot more special for her because of everything that has happened." Sooyun concluded admirably, staring at Yunseo and Soonyoung specifically for the last part. Nobody said anything for a few seconds, all nodding in agreement.

"Honestly, I think we would be terrible friends to Jieun if we didn't help out with making her birthday a little more special," Yunseo remarked.

"So, what's the plan?" Soonyoung asked, finally releasing himself from his silence.

"Well, I was thinking we..." Sooyun whispered her plan to everyone, who widened their eyes in surprise.

As Soonyoung, Jun, Sooyun, Yunseo and Minghao reappeared into the living room, Jieun turned to look.

"And what were you guys all doing?

"I was just asking them something," Sooyun responded coolly. Jieun stared at her skeptically as the others sat down in their spots.

"You were sure asking them something for a long time..."

Sooyun just shrugged. Jieun stopped trying to pursue it and continued to watch the soon ending movie.
