Four weeks later.

"Stay with me! Mercedes stay with me!"

"Sir, past this door we have to ask you to stay in the lobby."

Mercedes quickly turned her head to look at Jerome. Her crying was heavy. She shook her head.

"You're not gonna leave right?! You're gonna stay at the hospital right?! You won't leave me?!"

The nurses started pushing her faster.

"She's bleeding out we have to hurry!"

Jerome yelled just before they pushed through the doors towards the operating rooms.

"I promise you I will not leave you! I love you!"

The air was cold. Jerome stood frozen to the spot as the singing doors slowed to a stop. It took a solid two minutes before Jerome realized he wasn't breathing.

*Flashback*

"Daddy hurry! Something is wrong with mommy!"

Jessie and Aislinn stood against the wall as Jerome ran into his room. Mercedes was leaning against the bathroom door frame crying. Her pants were covered in blood. She heard Jerome and instantly pleaded.

"Jerome help me! I'm in so much pain and I just started bleeding! I can't hardly move on my own! I don't know what's going on!"

*End of flashback*

Jerome leaned back against the wall trying to catch his breath.

"Would you guys like a sucker? You can pick your own flavor from our special sucker bucket."

Jessie and Aislinn sadly chose their flavor. Aislinn looked at the nurse.

"Thank you..."

The nurse placed the bucket on the counter and set in a chair next to the twins. She gave a reassuring smile.

"Hey... I'm sure your mommy is going to be just fine."

Jessie slowly walked towards the nurse.

"Excuse me nurse lady... can you open this for me?"

The nurse gave him a smile with a slight laugh.

"Of course I can."

Aislinn stood up from her chair.

"Uncle Miah!"

Jeremiah quickly turned around. The nurse backed away slightly. Jeremiah knelt in front of the twins. Jessie ran to give him a hug.

"Hey little man."

Jeremiah stood to his feet. He tried to give the nurse his best smile without freaking her out.

"Thank you for watching my niece and nephew... Does that mean you are not the person to talk to about what is going on?"

The nurse shook her head no.

"Sadly, I don't know anything... I was just hanging out with the children."

Aislinn's eyes followed the room.

"Where's daddy...."

The nurse could tell Aislinn was about to start freaking out again. She knelt beside her, but Jeremiah raised his hand to stop her.

"I can handle this."

Jeremiah set in a chair and opened his arms.

"Come here Aisie."
