A Little Sane

Chapter 145

Mercedes plopped on the couch and nuzzled into Jerome's side as he put his arm around her. She opened her water bottle and took a big gulp. She laughed and threw her hands up when Jerome took it before she could close it. 

"Really? My water.. I would have gotten you your own." 

Jerome laughed as he set it on the table in front of the couch. He kissed the side of her head. She closed her eyes and smiled. 

"What are you so happy about?"

Mercedes returned a small, happy sigh. She looked up at Jerome.

"It's my day off. They don't need me up there."

Jerome's smile turned into a smirk. Mercedes couldn't help herself. 

"Plus..."

She set up and straddled Jerome's lap. She gripped his chin. 

"I have other things to do today."

Jerome chuckled. 

"Oh do you?"

"Mhm.."

She set up tall on her knees and leaned down pressing her lips into Jerome's. Jerome gasped when he realized Mercedes had a hold on his tongue. She giggled. Jerome rested one hand on her right hip and his other on her left cheek. Mercedes had settled down in his lap and gotten comfortable. 

"Ew! Momma stop adult kissing daddy and get out of his lap! If I can't sit there anymore, neither can you!"

Mercedes pulled away and trued really hard not to laugh. Jerome chuckled.

"You've been caught."

Mercedes slightly groaned and leaned down until her head bumped Jerome's shoulder. Jerome patted her on the back.

"There there. It'll be okay."

Mercedes fell into laughter as she climbed out of Jerome's lap. 

"Hey Aisie bear.. sorry. I wasn't thinking."

Aislinn looked completely disgusted. 

"It's gross Momma!"

Mercedes shook her head and smiled brightly. Aislinn gave her a confused look.

"You might not feel that way when you get older Aisie. Besides, you and Jessie had to get here somehow."

Aislinn looked like she had seen a ghost. Her face so pale Jerome was afraid she was about to be see-through.

"So.. Me and Jessie got in your stomach because you were kissing daddy?"

Mercedes looked at Jerome slightly shocked. They hadn't given that conversation to the twins in full detail yet, but she nodded.

"Yup. That's how it works."

Aislinn gaged heavily and shook her head. She stepped back.

"Eww! I am never kissing a man!"

Jerome fell into maniacal laughter. 

"You know, I really love that idea my beautiful Aisie bear."

Aislinn turned to walk down the hallway, but Mercedes stopped her.

"Okay but Aisie! That's not all you do.. In fact that's not the actually action that causes a baby.."

"Ew no! There's more!?"

Mercedes laughed.

"We'll talk about it later okay? Full truth. I promise. That way you are properly informed."
