A Little Sane

Chapter 155

Mercedes groaned slightly. She was still somewhat asleep and her phone was ringing. 

Who is calling this fucking early in the morning...

Mercedes shook her head as Jerome blew his hot breath in her face from groaning. She turned her body just enough to grab her phone off of the side table. She turned back to Jerome who shuffling and still groaning. He pulled her slightly closer to him. Mercedes could barely see the caller I.D. TaTyana. She pressed the answer button and sleepily spoke with a yawn.

"Hello...?"

"I just woke you up... well.. sorry, but you need to get up.."

Jerome nuzzled his head into his pillow with his eyes closed and gently rubbed his hand up and down Mercedes back.

"Doll face.. baby who is it..?"

Mercedes could hear the anger in TaTyana's voice. 

"No fucking way! That's Jerome isn't it! You are not telling me you're waking up in the same goddamn bed as him right now!"

Mercedes could barely grasp the seriousness in her voice. She sighed still almost asleep. 

"It's TaTyana.."

Jerome yawned heavily. 

"You're damn right it's me! You better be up and fucking ready!"

"What are you talking about...? It's like six in the morning..."

"I don't give a fuck what time it is! Get your ass up! Ecco called me!"

Mercedes set straight up completely awake. Jerome set up slightly and was extremely confused.

"She called you?"

"Yes, and I know every fucking thing! So his ass better be ready for me! And don't you dare try to run! We are already in Gotham and will be at your apartment in less than ten minutes! So get out of that goddamn bed that you are so stupidly laying in with him! Now!"

Mercedes could hear Ed in the background driving. He said something before TaTyana hung up the phone. Mercedes couldn't make out what he had spoken. She instantly turned to Jerome and started shaking him. He set up and became more awake.

"We have to get up and get dressed now... TaTyana and Ed are going to be at the front door in like six minutes.. Ecco called her.. She knows what happened and she angry... at you.."

Jerome slowly nodded his head. 

"Okay.. I deserve it.."

Mercedes cupped his cheek and gently rubbed it with her thumb. She sighed and got out of bed. They quickly got dressed. The second they entered the kitchen a knock landed on the door. Mercedes sighed as she slowly opened it. She tilted her head confused. 

"Jim? Harvey? Lee? What are you guys doing here?"

Jim rubbed the back of his neck.

"TaTyana called us.. let's not make this any harder.."

Mercedes slowly opened the door and let them in. Jerome walked into the living room confused. Mercedes held her head as if she had gotten a headache. Less than two minutes later the front door flew open. Ed quietly walked in behind TaTyana who was more than livid. 

"What the fuck is he doing here?!"

Mercedes stepped forward. She sighed.

"He lives here..."

TaTyana was growing more angry by the second.

"How did he get back in here?!"

"He didn't... I left.. Then I came back.."
