Jerome stared at Mercedes in complete shock as she paced around the room. They were now back in the office connected to the bedroom. Mercedes finally stopped pacing. She turned to Jerome with a sigh.

"It's kind of a long story, but I can shorten it some.."

Mercedes set on the bed with her legs crossed and motioned for him to sit in front of her. Jerome set across from her and gently places his hand on her knee. Mercedes scooted closer to him. Jerome gently rubbed her thigh. Mercedes let out a deep breath.

"I saw the therapist at Arkham..."

Jerome instantly groaned and rolled his eyes. Mercedes gently grabbed his chin making him look her in the eyes.

"Hey... they forced me.. and besides.. it helped a little.. She helped me remember I killed him.. because I didn't remember.. It was one night.. I was thirteen.. I had just had enough and he told me he was going to start abusing Ethan... I couldn't let him.. I couldn't. I.. I hit him in the head repeatedly in the head with a bat.. His brains were everywhere.."

She gave Jerome the most serious stare she had ever given.

"I was always a murderer."

Jerome instantly cupped her face. He shook his head.

"No you weren't. You grew up in a literal horror movie.. he was.. torturing you.. Baby girl that was self defense. You have not always been a cold blooded killer.. I still don't see you as one now.. Every person you have laid a hand on has put one on you first.. It's weird though that you didn't remember.."

"We found out why I couldn't remember... Oh I almost forgot fuck!"

Mercedes jumped off the bed and ran to a cabinet. Jerome watched her curiously as he followed her. He gave her a questioning look when she pulled out prescriptions. Mercedes sighed.

"Jerome... all the episodes and mood swings... The terrors I have been going through... I have Schizoaffective disorder... these are my medications.. I technically stole the prescriptions when I broke out and forced a pharmacist to fill them.. like a lot.."

Jerome shook his head in disbelief.

"They put a name to it... Mercedes you aren't crazy no matter what they told you.."

Mercedes gave him a weak smile.

"I know I'm not. Just mentally ill.. My disorder blocked the memory from my mind in order to protect myself.."

Mercedes opened the bottles and pulled out the correct dosage. Jerome gently grabbed her wrist.

"What is this going to do to you..?"

Mercedes gave him a reassuring smile trying to ease his worry.

"They're just going to balance my brain chemicals. I'll still be me just hopefully without all the scary shit..."

Mercedes sighed as she put the pills back. Jerome tilted hiss head confused.

"I just remembered I'm pregnant... I can't take these yet.. They could harm the baby.. I had forgotten about them until today.."

Mercedes jumped slightly. She laughed as she looked at her stomach.

"Well hello in there. I'm so glad you wake up and join me today."

Mercedes continued to laugh as the baby moved around.

"This feel so weird!"

Jerome stared at her stomach. Mercedes gently grabbed his wrist. He looked into her eyes and slowly shook his head.
