Today was a day Mercedes had to go to work. Jerome was hanging out with the twins. They begged and pleaded that they were old enough to be alone, but both Mercedes and Jerome shut that down quickly. Jerome had taken to the kids to their favorite spot on the rocks by the river. He was still worried about Mercedes.

"Daddy can we get a snack?"

Jerome smiled brightly at Aislinn.

"There's still some fruit left in that fruit tray. It's in the fridge."

Aislinn jumped with excitement and ran towards the kitchen. Jerome walked towards his room and to his bathroom. As he went to leave the bathroom he noticed Mercedes' journal sitting on the floor by the bathtub. He thought to himself.

She must have forgotten to pick it up... and.. it's open..

Jerome stared at the journal without actually reading any of it. He shook his head.

I can't invade her privacy. I can't read it... but I have been worried about her.. maybe it will give an answer to what's been going on..

He already felt guilty as he picked up her journal. He thought another split second about closing it, but he was already reading the page it was on. He realized it was a song that she had written. His eyes grew wide as he read the words. He began to worry about her mental state and suicidal thoughts even more. He hurried into the kitchen.

"I need you guys to pack your snack up. We have to go to mommy's work. I need to talk to her."

The twins were confused when Jerome was rushing them into the club. He turned to them.

"Go in the locker room. Remember you don't leave with anyone or let them give you anything. Just hang out okay. I won't be long."

Aislinn grabbed his hand.

"Daddy!"

The second he turned around Aislinn hugged him tightly. She finally let go.

"Okay.. yes, sir.."

He smiled and kissed the top of her head.

"I'll be right back my beautiful Aisie bear. I promise."

Jerome found Oriena.

"Hey Jerome."

"Where's Mercedes? I need to speak to her. She is here right?"

Oriena nodded.

"She is here, but I'm not sure if she's upstairs or not."

"Okay guys! We have a treat today! Mercedes is going to sing for us!"

Jerome instantly turned towards the stage. Mercedes didn't notice him. He was extremely shocked when she started singing the exact song she had written in her journal.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhereTheir tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head, I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrowAnd I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very, very
Mad world
Mad worldChildren waiting for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listenWent to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello, teacher, tell me, what's my lesson?
Look right through me, look right through meAnd I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles it's a very, very
Mad world
Mad worldMad world
Mad world
