Mercedes set across from Jeremiah her breathing slow. They had been sitting in her office for almost five minutes with nothing but silence. Mercedes finally met his gaze.

"I really need to talk to you about something serious.."

Jeremiah set up straighter with concern. His hand were fidgety.

"Is there something wrong..?"

Mercedes slowly nodded. She took in a deep breath. She never imagined she would have to have this conversation with anyone.

"It's my health Miah..."

Jeremiah instantly moved to sit beside her. Mercedes let out a small chuckle.

"It's serious, but nothing that can't be managed.. when I was in Arkham.. I saw the therapist.."

Jeremiah tilted his head giving her his full attention.

"Miah.. I have Schizoaffective disorder.. I can't breast feed Mariana.. I need to take my meds like now... I needed to have this conversation with you one, because you are an important person in my life, but two, it concerns our daughter.. I don't want to be feeding her chemicals.. So she has to do formula.. I can't stay off the meds. I'm not stable.."

Jeremiah gave her a sympathetic look. He slowly nodded.

"That... actually makes sense.. may I see your prescriptions? I know what most medicine does. I just want to see what you plan on taking or rather what they gave you."

"Yeah.. sure.."

Mercedes walked to a cabinet and grabbed a bottle she had hid at the club. She handed it to Jeremiah and he examined the bottle. He gave her a reassuring smile.

"You should not have too many issues with these, but we all know that medication such as these can give you suicidal thoughts.. I need you to promise if you start feeling less than yourself that you will tell someone. You might also get a little tired when you take them."

Mercedes gave him a loving smile.

"I promise. You can actually have full choice on what I feed her if you want.. since you know all the science behind it.. you can look and see which one is the best with the least amount of harsh shit in it. I trust your opinion on that. I already pumped for today though so.. I need it tomorrow.."

Jeremiah gave her an excited nod.

"I am on it."

Mercedes gave him a sad nod and smile. He gently cupped her cheek

"No worries beautiful. All of your children will be just fine. You can manage this. Your are strong."

Mercedes smiled as she leaned into his hand. His crimson red lips were pulled into a captivating smile that was bright against his pale white skin.

"Let me go and get started on her food right now."

Mercedes walked Jeremiah out into the club. She instantly saw Jerome who was across the room staking where they would be coming from. She shook her head with a loving smile.

So jealous and worried.

Mercedes walked into the locker room where Aislinn and Jessie were playing with some of the ladies that worked there. Mariana was sitting in her baby carrier. Mercedes instantly picked her up.

"Thank you for watching them. I need to take them home now.. this is no place for children."

One of the ladies chuckled and smiled.

"They're precious though. Loved playing with them."

Mercedes had her kids close and she walked directly over to Jerome. She gave him a loving smile.

"Let's go home."

Mercedes watched her kids eating their dinner. She turned to Jerome as she gently swung Mariana in her rocker.

"I'm going to have Miah come over and watch the kids tomorrow evening for a few hours if that's okay.. It's our off night..."

Jerome narrowed his eyes. Mercedes gently poked his cheek.

"Remember I said I had a surprise for you?"

Jerome grinned. Mercedes could almost feel his cheeks rising with his grin.

"That you did."

Mercedes stopped swinging Mariana and stood up with excitement. She quickly kissed his cheek.

"I'm excited! I think you'll love it!"

Jerome chuckled. He was curious as to what she wanted to give him. Mercedes rushed towards the hallway.

"I need to pee!"

Jerome laughed softly to himself. His gaze shifted downward towards Mariana. She was peacefully sleeping. He studied her face. Every inch of it was Mercedes. He couldn't help his small smile that formed. Mariana was an innocent child in all of this. Jerome lifted his gaze as Aislinn climbed into his lap.

"Hi daddy."

Jerome smiled bigger than before. His daughter who a perfect combination of him and Mercedes was smiling at him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you so much my Aisie bear."

Aislinn giggled. She set back in his lap and poked him forehead.

"Duh! I'm your best friend daddy! You're supposed to miss me!"

Jerome jokingly looked offended.

"Oh, well excuse me for not remembering. What a bad dad."

Aislinn laughed. Mercedes laughed to herself and she peered around the hallway corner. She turned around and walked back to their room. She rummaged through her things until she found her notebook. She turned to a specific page and stared at it. She thought about her children and the world they were growing up in. Especially her daughters. Mercedes felt that if she did nothing else with her life, she was going to fight to make this world a safer place for her little girls.
