Jerome groaned as he woke from his sleep. He shuffled and realized he could barely move. He opened his eyes and noticed he was nestled comfortably in Mercedes' form with his face in the crook of her neck. He could feel her breathing was slow and she had a firm, but gentle grip on him. He chuckled at the fact she was still completely passed out. His mind wondered to the night before. Mercedes running her fingers through Jerome's hair as he snuggled deeper into her form trying to sooth his crying. She began to sing a song she wrote for him.
Can't say how the days will unfold,
Can't change what the future may hold
But, I want you in it
Every hour, every minute This world can race by far too fast
Hard to see while it's all flying past
But, it's clear now,
When you're standing here now
I am meant to be wherever you are next to me All I want to do
Is come running home to you
Come running home to you
And all my life I promise to
Keep running home to you
Keep running home
To youAnd I could see it
Right from the start
Right from the start
That you would be
Be my light in the dark
Light in the dark
Oh, you gave me no other choice
But to love youAll I want to do
Is come running home to you
Come running home to you
And all my life I promise to
Keep running home to you
Keep running home
Home to youCan't say how the days will unfold
Can't change what the future may hold
But, I want you in it
Every hour, every minuteThe song had made Jerome extremely happy. He snuggled deeper into Mercedes. He wasn't ready to be out of her arms yet. Jerome smiled when he felt Mercedes start to run her fingers through his hair. He leaned his head back slightly and felt her soft lips on his forehead. He closed his eyes and smiled. He felt more calm and safer than he did before he met her.
"You are such a cuddly man and it is my absolute favorite thing. Nothing compares to you my handsome husband."
"I love you so much Mercedes..."
Mercedes gently grabbed his chin and lifted his head. Jerome deepened their kiss. Mercedes sighed and slightly laughed when they pulled away.
"I here the kids.."
Jerome chuckled and frowned.
"But, they can wait. My cuddles."
Mercedes laughed as she leaned in to peck his lips.
"I would lay here all day, but you know at some point they'll get hungry and burst in here."
Jerome jokingly groaned and complained.
"Ugh kids! Always hungry or needing other shit!"
Mercedes couldn't help her smile. She gently grabbed his chin.
"I love you so much too."
She gently kissed one last time before attempting to get out of bed.
"I want that cereal Jessie! There's not a lot left!"
Jerome shook his head. Mercedes yawned and stretched. She shook her head as she put shorts on and walked out of the bedroom. Jerome laughed as he heard her trying to ring master their bickering children. He set up and stretched. He instantly saw a flash of her journal in his mind. He shook his trying not to think about it. Jerome was worried about what else he would find in he journal. Maybe it could help him understand what was going on. He could be prepared in case she attempted suicide again. Jerome listened carefully. Mercedes was knee deep in dealing with their children. With a matter of seconds, Jerome found himself holding her journal by the dresser. He stared at the cover. He took in a heavy breath. He shook his head.
