A Little Sane

Chapter 4

Their world was no longer the same. Two tiny humans depended on them. Aislinn Eleina Valeska who was born at five fifteen P.M. on October nineteenth. Jessie Sawyer Valeska who was born seven minutes after at five twenty-two P.M. on October nineteenth. Jerome thought it crazy that they were born right after their one year wedding anniversary. Mercedes and Jerome had finally got married on September thirteenth. They couldn't do much, because Mercedes was still so pregnant and didn't feel too good, but Jerome nicely asked TaTyana and Ed to go somewhere for a few hours. Jerome made Mercedes dinner that she at first thought was questionable but ended up loving it. They watched a movie and cuddles on the couch. It was simple, but they were happy to be together. 

It had been a week since they brought the babies home. They had finally gotten the twins down for a nap. TaTyana and Ed walked into the kitchen.

"We need to talk to you... Well Ed is making me.."

Jerome set down and the table next to Mercedes.

"What's up?"

TaTyana sighed. Ed gave her a small nod.

"We um... found a house.. we already bought it too.."

Mercedes jumped up.

"That's great!! Wait... Why do you look like that..?"

TaTyana looked down.

"We found the house six months ago.."

"And you're still here in Gotham?!"

TaTyana tried to make excuses.

"Well.. I wanted to find a really good house and then you were pregnant and now you've had the babies..."

Mercedes shook her head.

"Oh no! You are not using me as an excuse to stay here! You should have left!" 

TaTayana sighed and looked at her best friend nervous.

"It is a really great house...."

Mercedes shook her head.

"That's it. You're going! You have to be gone by the end of the week."

Ed was laughing. TaTyana stared at Mercedes shocked. Mercedes smiled.

"I love you TaTyana. So I'm literally kicking you out. So get the fuck out by the end of the week."

TaTyana took a sip of her drink and got up leaving the kitchen. They watched in confusion as she left the apartment. Mercedes looked at Jerome worried. Ed stood up and Mercedes stopped him.

"Ed... There are just some things onl a best friend can fix... let me go.."

Mercedes found TaTyana on the roof on the building over looking the city. TaTyana sighed.

"I know you're behind me Mercedes."

Mercedes stood next to her at the ledge. Mercedes laughed. TaTyana questioned her.

"What?"

"Do you remember when we were eight and went walking on the trails in the woods."

"We found that really pretty creek... We would go there all the time to hang out..."

"We fell in the creek that one day and got soaking wet."

TaTyana laughed loudly. 

"We had to explain to our parents what happened.."

Mercedes smiled brightly and turned to face TaTyana.

"That's also where we promised each other that... we would always be here for each other... friends forever.."
