I woke up everyday the same. Alarm goes off at 6:30, I make breakfast, wake up my daughter Cleo, get her ready for school, and once she is starting her walk I take a shower and then get ready for work. I work at a law firm. I was in college for 2 years later then I needed to be to become a higher ranked lawyer. Cleo is in the 4th grade. Everyday I offer to drive her to school. She is going through a stage where she wants to hang out with her friends more often. Except this morning was different. My husband works at the hospital. Everyday for the past week he has come home and told me that something weird was happening. I woke up like I did every morning. "Hey babe, I think you should take Cleo to school. The new virus thing is starting to get out of control. I don't want her to get hurt." he told me still half of sleep. I was really concerned so I just decided that today I would drive her myself. Their was no way she was going to talk me out of it this time. "Morning mom" Cleo said as she grabbed her orange juice out of the fridge. "Hey honey. I need to talk to you" I said as I started my pot of coffee. "What's going on" she said as she started to eat. "I am going to drive you to school today" I said sitting next to her. "But mom" she started to say. "No. Your dad said that new virus is getting out of hand. He told me that he wanted me to make sure you were safe. Their were reports of people dying but coming back. It's probably nothing but I just want to make sure" I said looking at her while also looking at my watch so I know she won't be late. "Fine" Cleo said as she finished her breakfast and went to grab her stuff. I sat their for a second before going to get my jacket.

We started to drive down to the school. We got about half way their and I noticed that their were some people who were slightly discolored. Once they started to follow the car I started to worry. I turned the corner to drop Cleo off and I saw one of her teachers shooting most of the children. I stopped and looked. Cleo even looked concerned. "No I am not letting you go there" I said as I turned around. The older guy saw me and got in his car to chase me. "Shit" I almost screamed as I turned the car around to get home. I finally got to the house. "Ok listen. run to me and dad's room. Tell him what happened and he will protect you" I said. I didn't let her say anything else before i ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife to defend myself. It wasn't long before the older guy busted threw the door. He tackled me to the floor. I lost my knife and couldn't reach it. The guy wrapped his hands around my neck and started to squeeze. Somehow I managed to reach my knife. I drove the knife into his neck. Blood started to fall all over me. The grip loosened and the body went limp. I pushed myself out from under the now dead body. I saw myself in the living room mirror. I was covered in blood and their was dead body  laying on the ground. If I was questioned by the police I would just say it was for self defense. I ran up stairs to go check on Cleo and Jacob. I entered the room and just stopped. "Oh my god are you ok" Jacob said as he ran over to me. "Yea. Yea I'm fine." I said looking at Cleo. "I'm so sorry mom" Cleo said starting to cry. "It's ok honey. It wasn't your fault" I said hugging her. She was shaking. "Go pack a small bag. Were leaving." I said looking over at Jacob. Jacob nodded and went to start packing me and him a small bag. Cleo went to her room and found a small over the shoulder bag and packed some things. Then we were off. Off to find a new safe place.
