We Will Survive Together

Chapter 44: Even the happiest moments come with consequences.

Me, Carol, Tyreese, and Judith were still on our way to Terminus. We were getting closer when we noticed a walker following us. Carol went to take it out but noticed a herd of them coming. She nodded for us to hide and we did. We hoped Judith wouldn't pick this time to cry and waited. We were getting ready to sneak away when we heard gunfire coming from the direction of Terminus. We knew we were less then a mile out so it was coming from there. We decided to take a detour just to be safe. We were walking and came across a small cabin. There was someone working with fireworks outside it. He was talking through a walkie talkie. "Yeah we did good. Gareth said they caught the new ones. Just saying I call the archers crossbow and the kids hat when they drain them" the man said. My heart dropped when I realized he was talking about Daryl. We stepped out quietly and made our way over to the man. We hit the walkie out of his hand and told him to stay still. "We are friends with the archer and the kid. Hell Kass here is the archers girlfriend" Carol said with her gun pointed to his head. He talked for awhile trying to convince us to become apart of there group. I didn't care. "I'm going" I said grabbing a bag that was in the corner. "Kass" Tyreese said. "No Daryl is there. I don't care. Even if I die doing this at least he will be ok" I said leaving the cabin. I walked for a few minutes then put the sheet over my head. I covered myself with walker blood and mud. It was to blend in. I heard Rick talk about it once. I grabbed my gun and slowly walked over to the fence. I saw people fighting walkers at the fence then I saw Daryl, Rick, Glenn, and Bob being drug away. I also saw a gas tank and knew what I had to do. I had a few fireworks I took from the cabin and got them ready. I shot the tank to draw the walkers closer to it. Then I lit the firework and hit directly hit the tank. The tank blew up causing some of the walkers to catch fire. Then I made my way down with the walkers to help them get out. I took down anyone from Terminus along the way. No one realized that I wasn't a walker which was a huge advantage. I continues walking and saw another person from Terminus. However this time when I shot a few walkers noticed me. I went into a building and it had hundreds of items. I immediately saw Daryl's crossbow and Michonne's Katana. I took them both and continued to walk. Then I came across what looked to be a candle shop. I was almost out when I heard a lady tell me to turn around. I slowly put the weapons on the floor and with the last one turned and shot. She ducked and I missed. We started a fight and were trying to kill each other. After a few seconds I pushed her off me and grabbed my gun. She had a candlestick but knew she would be the one to die if she tried anything. "We used to help people but then they came at us and we needed to adapt. That's why we do the things we do" the lady said. "The archer and the kid that group where are they" I said. she didn't answer. I shot her leg making her fall to the ground in pain. "Where are they" I yelled out. Still no answer. "Fine have it your way" I said picking up the things I dropped and walking out the door letting a few walkers in to finish her off. I continued to walk until I knew they would have got out. I knew I needed to get out. I went back to my original spot. I took off the sheet and used my left over water to get the blood and mud off my face. I grabbed the crossbow and katana and made my way back towards Terminus. As I got closer I saw people I didn't recognize. Then I saw Carl's hat so I knew they were good people. I walked out and the people I never seen saw me first. Then Carl must have sensed me because he turned around. He ran at me and I dropped the sword and bow. I hugged the child and everyone came to greet me. After I released the hug I realized Daryl wasn't there. I looked around before looking at Rick with worry. "Is he dead" I asked trying not to tear up. Before Rick could answer I heard someone or something coming. "They ain't getting out they are gonna die most like-" the man started to say before seeing me. Tears of joy came to my eyes seeing Daryl frozen in front of me. He moved forward and I ran at him. We meet in the middle and he wrapped his arms around me. At this point I was crying. "I thought I lost you" I said into his chest. He pulled away and looked down at me. "Never" he said looking into my eyes. Then he leaned forward and kissed me. I missed the feeling so much. I pulled away and he wrapped his arms around me again. "Come on" I said grabbing his hand. I led the group back to the cabin. Carol was walking out of the woods. I didn't know why. They greeted her and then Tyreese stepped out of the Cabin with Judith. Carl and Rick both ran to the baby and Sasha went to her brother. I looked at everyone and noticed Kaley wasn't there. I didn't want to bring it up now and ruin the mood. Apparently the man we tied up tried to kill Judith and Tyreese. Tyreese claimed to have killed him. 

We walked for awhile. We found a good spot to set up camp and I had to know where my sister was. I sat  in front of Daryl and leaned back against him. "Where is she" I said looking into the fire. At this point we were the only ones other then Glenn who was on watch that was awake. "We got out together but she got taken a day ago. Some car with a cross on the back. She ain't dead we just gotta find her" Daryl said wrapping his arms around me. He rested his hands on my thighs. I nodded. Then he reached into his bag and I saw the tip of Kaley's flag. Then Daryl pulled out a note. "Kaley found this one night in her bag after everything. Why did you wright a suicide note" Daryl asked. I looked at the paper. "Cause I came close. My mind weighed me down" I said. "Well you better not cause I ain't going to live without ya" Daryl said holding me tighter. "I wont" I said. "I love you Kass" Daryl said kissing my head. I smiled. " I love you too Daryl" I said. Then I fell asleep in his arms. Most of us where back together but where is Kaley.
