Chapter 63: Start to Finish

Me and Daryl were still laying next to each other panting. "And just like that you could be pregnant" he said grabbing my hand. "Yep. And since we don't know yet here in another hour I am helping start that wall thing on the road so the heard doesn't split off" I said sitting up. "Yeah I'm gonna help to" he said sitting up next to me. I leaned my head on his shoulder as he placed his hand on my lower back. "We should get dressed" Daryl said. I nodded and stood up. I grabbed my clothes and put them back on. Daryl did the same. "Alright we should make a quick run to the armory. Get our stuff" Daryl said. I nodded and we started the walk. We ran into Rick and Michonne on the way. Rick shook his head knowing what we had done. When we opened the door to the armory we saw Carter holding Eugene at gun point with Spencer, Tobin and a few others standing there. "The hell" I said looking around. Carter tried to explain his side but Rick knocked him on his ass quickly and swiftly. "You really gonna try to take this place away from Michonne, or Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Kass, or me" Rick said. Carter was practically begging for his life at this point. Rick handed me the gun and I walked back with Daryl to grab our guns. 

We got what we needed and made our way to the gate. Me, Daryl and a few others were riding together. We got to the location and Tobin and Carter showed us the plan. I began to dig some holes for some of the supports to go in. It was nothing compared to the bodies I once burried at the prison when that sickness broke out. 

About 30 minutes have passed and I had four holes dug. I heard someone coming up behind me and saw Maggie. "Hey" I said stopping. "Hey" she said smiling. "So how did it go" she asked. "I'm not. But" I said. "But what" she asked confused. "Me and Daryl think we are ready. Were trying" I said. "Oh my god. Do you know when you are gonna try" she asked. I simply smiled and looked down. "You already did" she said laughing. I nodded. "Wow. I don't know what to say Congrats" she said hugging me. "Thanks. Now this is a little bummer but is Glenn ok? I saw him and Nicholas in the infirmary with Rosita this morning" I asked. "Nicholas lured him out into the woods the other night. He uh tried to kill him. Shot Glenn" Maggie said. "Oh wow. Does Rick know" I asked. "No and Glenn wants it to stay that way" she said. I nodded and looked at everyone. "Walkers" I heard Carter yell. "You guys got this you need the practice" Rick said. "Help us" Carter said. "I believe in you" Rick said. Morgan was not agreeing with Rick and ran to help. "Morgan stop" Rick yelled. Me, Rick, Daryl, and Glenn then ran in to help. I took one down and didn't hear the one behind me. I only noticed it when it fell to the ground with an arrow threw the skull. I looked back and saw Daryl. I nodded and reached down and took the arrow. "Lose this" I said handing it back to him. "Yeah from saving your ass" He said. "I could have got it" I said cockily. "Mhm sure lets go with that" he said before leaning down and kissing me. I kissed him back and we went back to what we were doing. 

Another hour or so passed. I had just finished the holes for extra supports when the RV pulled in to be extra safe. Daryl walked up to me and grabbed my shovel. "I think your done" he said putting it aside. "I wonder what time it is" I said wiping the sweat on my shirt. "Probable 5 or 6" he said. I nodded and looked around. "Do you think it will work" I asked looking at everyone who was finishing up there work. "Yeah. Should" he said. I nodded and looked around. "Tomorrow we go on a dry run of how everything will work. Then its a matter of time before that herd breaks through" Daryl said. "You going to be ok staying back" he asked next. "Mhm. I just hope nothing goes wrong" I said. "It won't. And if something does go wrong I've gotten back to you from worse" he said. "No. This is the worse. At least as of now" I said. "Maybe. I'll be fine. Nothing is going to go wrong. I promise you" Daryl said. "Ok" I said nodding. People started to leave and me, Daryl, and the others got in our car and drove home. I was worried about Daryl going out there but if he said it would be alright then it was going to be alright. At least I hoped.

This is a shorter chapter because I wanted to start the next chapter with the start of the Dry run that turns into the actual run through. It is weird to explain but you know what I mean.
