Chapter 34: Separation

"Rick I want you to find who did this and bring them to me they can not get away with this" Tyreese yelled. "I will do my best but their are so many people here now that it might take a little while" Rick said trying to calm him down. "Then you better get to it" Tyreese said getting louder. "Man calm down" Daryl said. Tyreese turned around and pinned Daryl up to the wall. "Do not tell me to calm down. What if it was your bitch lying their dead. Do not tell me you would be ok with this." Tyreese said still pinning him to the wall. I moved forward a little but he saw it as a threat. He threw his arm back and it hit me in my neck. I fell to the ground and could here fighting beside me. I laid their for a minute trying to catch my breath. Carol was by my side. It completely knocked the air out of me. I was still panting and couldn't calm my self down. They were still fighting. "We will find the person who did this but you need to calm down" I heard Rick say. I looked over and saw Tyreese pinned on the ground. I slowly sat up and Daryl was by my side. "You good" he said placing his hand on my shoulder. "Y-yeah. I'm fine" I panted out. I stood up and left. I made my way back to Block A when I heard people arguing. "Daddy you can't do this" I heard Maggie say. I walked over and saw Maggie talking to Hershel. Hershel had a box and a mask on and was about to go into A block. "What is going on" I said walking up to them. "I am going in there until Bob, Michonne, Tyreese and Daryl get back with the meds. Like you said Dr. S is sick. I am the next closest thing to a doctor while Bob is out" Hershel said. I had no idea Daryl planned on going. I wanted to go. That was probably why he never told me. "Daddy you can't" Maggie said. "Listen god damn it. You step outside and you risk your life. You take a drink of water and you risk your life. And now days you breath, and you risk your life. But what for. By going in there I am risking my life in hopes that all those people in there get to keep going after they over come this. What if I don't go in there. If I don't Glenn could die Maggie." Hershel said looking at his daughter. She nodded and went to open the door for her father. I was still shocked about the whole Daryl not telling me he was leaving situation. I saw him packing the car. I walked over to him still wanting to go. "So were you just planning on leaving without saying a word or what" I asked. "Nah I was planning on telling you. Just wanted to wait cause I knew you would want to go" Daryl said . "I do want to. I haven't been on a run in at least two weeks" I said looking up at him. "I know but right now these people need you. You need to stay here this time please" Daryl said grabbing my hand. "What is me staying here going to do. I mean. They need the medicine. Hershel already went in. I'm not going in. What do I do" I said looking at him. "Keep them safe. With Glenn sick and us four gone that leaves You, Kaley, Maggie, Rick, and maybe Carl to defend this place." Daryl said still trying to convince me. I didn't respond. "I will be back as soon as possible. I promise you that" Daryl said again but this time lightly squeezing my hand. "Fine" I said nodding my head in agreement. He leaned forward and kissed me before getting in the car. I watched as the drove off and went to find something to do. I noticed that Daryl never finished barring the bodies so I decided to do that. I grabbed the gloves and mask out of my back pocket and walked over to the pile of bodies. I started to dig before I heard someone walking up behind me. I looked back and saw Carl. "Hey I thought you were supposed to stay with the other kids" I said looking at him. "I know but. I hate that my dad keeps me locked up I want to help" he said coming closer to were I was standing. I knew I had been exposed just hours earlier and still had a small chance of having it. "Carl I was in there. I might have it" I said backing up a little. Carl stopped and seemed devastated. Me and Carl try to talk to each other as much as possible. He is one of my best friends here. Me and him have been through so much together. "Um I should head back then. Stay safe" Carl said as he walked back to the place they were keeping the kids. "I will" I mumbled out before going back to finish barring the bodies. 

The job took close to 3 hours to get them all under ground. After each one I marked off who it was. I laid on the ground out of breath and beaming with sweat. I heard Maggie struggling and popped my head up. I saw an abnormal amount of walkers pushed against the fence. Regardless of my body aches I shot up and ran to help her. I grabbed a metal bar from along the side of the fence and started to help her. Together we took out maybe around 50 walkers and they were still coming. After we cleared enough to take a break we both collapsed to the ground. "Where did you come from" she said in between breaths. "I was finishing barring the bodies when I heard you yell." I panted out as I looked up to the sky. She nodded but didn't respond. After a minute she spoke up. "Glenn has it you know that." Maggie said. "Yeah. Listen Daryl and the rest will be back in no time with the meds to get them to Glenn, Sasha, Lizzie, and Dr. S." I said trying to keep hope alive. "Lizzie has it" she said looking at me. "Yeah. When I went in she was coughing and blood was slowly coming up." I said. I hated talking about Lizzie having it because she was only a kid. I mean losing Patrick was hard enough because all he wanted to do was help people. "I am going to go check on Kaley" I said standing up. "Ok" Maggie said still laying on the ground.  I walked to where Kaley, Beth, and Judith were staying and saw her outside. "Hey" I said stopping a distance away. She looked up but her smile faded when she saw my mask. "You were in there" she said before standing up. "Yeah" I said looking down a little. She started to come closer. "No. You are going to be around Beth and Judith. You can't not yet" I said. She frowned and looked away. "It's not just you. I won't let anyone who hasn't been exposed to it get near me." I said looking at my sister. "Hey. Remember that run I went on a month ago" I said looking at her. She lifted her head and looked back at me. "Stay here I forgot to give it to you but I found something" I said running back to my cell. I grabbed the item out of my bag. It was a pair of jeans with the lesbian flag sewn into them. I ran back to her and threw the jeans to her. When she saw it her face lit up. "I made a quick stop to mom and dads when I went. Even though it was cleared out. I like to go. I don't know why. Memories maybe. Anyway went into your old room. I put the flag you had in your cell. Hung it up for ya. Hell I remember when you had to tell mom everyone was getting the one with there favorite colors on it so you could order it" I said looking at her. Her smile grew larger and she looked at me. "After this is all over both of us can go see it. The house" She said. "Yeah. As soon as this flu thing goes away we can go" I said. She nodded. "I should get back in there. Just heard you guys moving around and was hoping to talk to someone. Got what I wanted" She laughed and waved bye as she went back into the building. At this point it was getting dark. I was starting to walk back to the cell I would be sleeping alone in tonight since Daryl wasn't their. When I got closer I noticed that one of our water jugs were tipped over and the water was everywhere. "The hell" I said to myself as I stepped through the puddle of water.
