Chapter 43: Kids can be a threat to

While on the tracks we knew we were getting closer. We needed to rest though. "Kass we need to rest you exhausted" Tyreese said. I nodded. I wasn't ready to say I was tired but I knew they were. We turned off into the woods and walked for about another mile. We came across a small grove. It was nice and there were no walkers in sight. Me, Tyreese and Carol went in to clear the house when we heard the girls yell. We ran out and saw Mika shoot a walker that came from around the house. After we made sure the girls were ok we went back into the house. There were enough rooms for all of us and everyone went to sleep. Everyone but me. I sat on the bed thinking of where else they could be. I wanted him to be ok but what if he was gone. What if they were both gone. I took of my jacket and that left me in my now bloody white tank top. I reached into my bag and felt a knife I didn't know was in there. I then pulled out a knife. I examined it then realized it was Daryl's. I had no idea how I had it but it was there. A few tears fell from my face and I sat it on the desk. I laid back and didn't even realize that I fell asleep. 

I woke up the next morning to the sound of people walking around. I knew they were awake now. I got up and saw the knife. I put it on my belt and put my jacket and boots back on. I walked out and didn't see Lizzie. "Lizzie still sleeping" I said as Tyreese handed me a bottle of water. "No she went outside with Mika" Carol said looking out the window. Then I saw Lizzie running from a walker. I grabbed Daryl's knife and we all ran outside. Carol got there first and took it down. "Why would you do that" Lizzie yelled. "Lizzie it was a walker" Carol said looking up at the child. "No she was my friends she was different and needed someone" Lizzie said as she started to cry. Mika stood behind me and looked terrified. Lizzie screamed at Carol for a while before running back into the house. I helped Carol drag the body away from the house and walked back. I went up to Lizzie and Mika's room and they were both in there but Lizzie wasn't talking. "Mika can I talk to your sister" I said standing there. Mika nodded and left the room. I looked at the girl and sat on the foot of her bed. "So what was all that" I said sitting next to her. "She needed a friend they all do" She said looking at me. "They aren't dead. They are just sick" she said. I nodded and left her alone. I walked back up to my room and laid down. I decided to try to get some more sleep. 

I woke up to screams coming from Lizzie and Mika. I grabbed my gun and ran outside. Mika was caught in the fence and there were burning walkers coming. I shot the walker that grabbed her ankle and Lizzie got her free. They both pulled out there guns and started to shoot. That was when Carol and Tyreese got back from getting water. We all took out the walkers and looked at the girls. "What happened" I asked sitting down on the ground. "We went for a small walk and they caught up to us." Mika said. Lizzie looked at her sister then back at us. "OK me and Tyreese are going to get the water again we dropped it so we need to refill the buckets. Be safe" Carol said walking away. I went up to my room and sat my gun on the desk. I walked back down stairs and saw Lizzie following Mika with a knife. "No" I mumbled but by the time I got outside she had already drove the knife into her sisters stomach. I looked at her sister then back at her. I was out of words that was when I heard Carol and Tyreese behind me. "Don't worry I didn't hurt her brain. She will come back" Lizzie said smiling. I wiped tears from my eyes and they both did the same. Carol took out here knife to put down Mika. "No" Lizzie yelled as she pointed her gun at Carol. "You can all finally see it" she said. "Ok. Put the gun down I can go tie her to a tree while we wait. Why don't you go with Tyreese to get something to eat" Carol said. Lizzie nodded and she went with Tyreese and Judith inside. I heard Carol crying and more tears fell. I took out my knife and put down Mika. Then me and Carol knew what we had to do. I went in to get Lizzie and we all went for a walk. I trailed off knowing what was going to happen. Then I heard a line that would stick with me for the rest of my life. "Just look at the flowers Lizzie" Carol said. Then the gunshot. I looked back and tears came to both our eyes. We brought her body back and buried both of them. I was sitting on the couch when I heard Carol talking. Then I realized she told him she was the one who burned Karan and David. Somehow he forgave her. "We leave tomorrow. Go to Terminus" Carol said looking at me. I nodded and leaned my head back. I knew we where about to find out if Daryl made it there or not.
