Chapter 33: Spreading

It was early the next morning and I was helping put away everything that was found on the run before. "Good part is you found a lot of what we were low of" I said looking over at Daryl who was refilling the water containers. "Yeah and even on that these people-" he started to say before we heard gunshots. "Their coming from D" I said grabbing my knife out of the holster and running with Daryl towards the cell block. Their were walkers everywhere. It wasn't long before more people showed to help. I could here Lizzie and Mika crying I ran past their cell to take out another walker and saw Carol trying to save their dad. He looked to just be bit on the arm so she was trying to do what we did to Hershel. After all the walkers were taken down we all stood their out of breath. "What the hell happened" I said trying to catch my breath. "Look" Hershel said pointing to a body on the ground. We rolled it over and it was Patrick. I remembered Carl talking about how he was sick. "Yeah. He must have caught whatever sickness it was and died then made his way back here and bit other people causing a chain reaction." Dr. S said examining the boy. "Well how bad is is" Glenn said looking around him. "We all have been around it. We all may have it now." he said looking at all of us. "Well now that we know what it is we can cure it right" Daryl said looking at all of us. "Maybe I'll look into it" Dr. S said standing up and walking to his cell. "We need to have a council meeting" Hershel said as he left the room. We all followed Hershel into the room where we held the meetings. "So what do we do" Michonne said sitting down. "Well all of us have been around this. We need to cut our selves away from everyone who hasn't been. For their safety. I know that sounds hard especially for some of you but it is for everyone's safety." Hershel said looking at Glenn. "Well what do we do with the sick the people who have been coughing lately. They most likely have it" Daryl said looking at Hershel. "A block is open. We have a few people in their but we can easily cram them into C and B" I said looking around. Before anyone could say anything else we heard coughing coming from outside. We all stood up and went to see who. "Are you ok" Hershel asked. "Yeah just a cough" Karan said. "She will be fine. I am taking her back to my cell to rest until D is cleared again" Tyreese said trying to walk away. "That might not be a good idea" Hershel said stopping them. "Why what happened." Karan said looking worried. "Patrick got sick. Started with a cough but it killed him. That is what happened to D block. He died and came back. The sickness kills. And it can spread. All sick are going to A block right now" I said looking at both of them. "Are you serious" Karan said in disbelief. "Yeah. If you have it going into that cell could give it to Carl and Judith and everyone else." I said again. She nodded and Glenn led Karan to A block. "Alright I'm gonna go bury some of those bodies" Daryl said walking away. "Where gloves and a mask" Hershel said. Daryl nodded and walked away. "Kass can you go check on everyone. Where a mask and gloves though" Hershel said turning to me. "Yeah I'm on it" I said walking away. I was walking back to the cell with my mouth covered just in case when I saw Daryl leaving with an extra mask and pair of gloves. "Heard Hershel tell you to wear them to. Figured I'd grab them for ya" Daryl said as he handed me the mask and gloves. "Thanks" I said smiling. Daryl nodded and walked away. I tied the mask around my face and slid the gloves on. I went into D block and found Lizzie and Mika. "Hey how are you two feeling." I said as I stopped in front of them. "I'm fine" Mika said looking up at me. "Ok. Go down to the outdoor eating space until further notice ok" I said looking down at the timid child. Mika nodded and left. I heard coughing and turned to see Lizzie coughing. "Are you ok" I said looking down to the child. She nodded but kept coughing. "Come with me" I said leading her towards A block. "Where are you taking me" she asked. She sounded scared. "A block. Dr. S will take care of you" I said. Upon arriving I saw many people already their. I walked in. With my mask on and led her to her own cell. Well her friend was in there. "You stay here" I will tell Carol your here and she can visit some time" I said looking at the child. She nodded and laid down. I started to walk out when I saw Sasha in a cell. I stopped before I heard Dr. S coughing. "It's happening" he said in between coughs. I started to leave when the door opened. Glenn walked in and looked awful. I pointed to an empty cell and he walked towards it. I ran out of the cell block and searched for Hershel. I saw him talking to Daryl down in the field. I ran over their. "Glenn has it. Sasha. Lizzie. And Dr. S" I said out of breath. "Damn" Daryl said looking at me. "You good" he asked still looking at me. Before I could answer Bob came up to us. "I know the meds we need. I was an army medic. Their is a place not far from here just need some help" Then we heard yelling. Me and Daryl ran to where it was coming from and when we got their we were shocked. Their were two burning bodies and Tyreese was freaking out. "I want to know who did this." He kept yelling. Rick and Carol were already their. I then realized the bodies were Karan and David. Someone burned Karan and David. But who.....
