Time Through Time We Remain Untamed.

CHAPTER 24 : RELATIONSHIPS PT. 2

       The air was warmer than most beginning spring days but it was more than a welcoming feeling. Students rushed out of the school premises eager to part with the building and be free from the constraints of education. Wuxian walked out slow, choosing to drag his feet along with the others. He was in no hurry to be anywhere and plus he had a date to get to. He reached the outer school wall and for sure found Qin Su's girl squad. Upon spotting him, the immediately engulfed him into their circle and began their discussions with him. Qin Su herself was yet to arrive so they had to wait a few minutes to spare waiting for her.

       Lan Zhan was not far behind as he finished up some student council work and headed out. His earlier mood had dimmed with the activities of the day but a remnant still echoed within him. He grabbed his things then made to the gate more brisk than usual. He was still eager to see Wuxian at the end of the day. Lan Zhan emerged from the school doors as those among the last. His eyes scanned over the place to locate where Wuxian was and was midly disappointed to find him once again surrounded by Qin Su's company. Scratch that, he was majorly disappointed. Not only that but Wuxian was entertaining them and by the loud shouts of laughter peeling off them, they were thoroughly enjoying their time.

    Lan Zhan walked over, pushing his nagging feeling behind as he hoistered his bag up his back. He was a few steps away when a body raced  past him and he watched with slitted eyes as Qin Su jumped on Wuxian's shoulders exclaiming loudly how sorry she was for having made them wait. His feet halted as he just gazed at the scene before him and his usual blank canvas of a mind and heart was blotchef in the chaotic colours of jealousy and irritation over and over. His heartbeat had risen significantly and his face bore an expression never before seen and frankly scared those who passed by the statue figure of the prince.

        Wuxian felt as though he was being pulled in different directions at the never ending girls and was about to rethink his decision about buying them dumplings when he saw a stilled shadow a far. He immediately turned to see Lan Zhan standing in front of him and his face held a frightful glare towards him and Qin Su. It was a mixture of an impenetrable, unpredictable and mysterious underlying force that unsettled Wuxian and a visible sign of disapproval and clear uncomfort. Wuxian was taken aback. The whole day, Lan Zhan had been acting weird and had avoided Wuxian's questions yet here he was again acting out of character especially in Qin Su's presence. Did...... did Lan Zhan have something for Qin Su by chance? It would explain it though that seemed far fetched. He had never mentioned anything about Qin Su at all to give away attention but then again this was Lan Zhan, there was much that he kept to himself, much that Wuxian didn't know and didn't need to at all.

     "Lan Zhan...... Is there something you need?" Wuxian asked slowly stepping away from the crowd. He looked straight at Lan Zhan, his expression not changing but flickered over to this passive tone. One minute he was annoyed and the next he was unreachable. Suddenly, Lan Zhan  turned around and abruptly walked in the direction of his home away from Wuxian. Wuxian was shocked to say the least and made a move to reach him but was interrupted by Qin Su.

      "Come on Wei Wuxian or else the shops will run out of dumplings and that will be hell to pay especially with me!! So let's move."

    Wuxian stuttered, trying to get Qin Su to let him talk to Lan Zhan but he was quickly engrossed by the other girls who couldn't dare run the risk of losing out on warm, savory dumplings. Whatever was going on with Lan Zhan would have to wait for another time as they dragged the outnumbered boy along.

     Wuxian's footing finally took hold and began walking properly with the girls though this time he wasn't vocally invested with the rest as his mood downed down. He couldn't stop thinking about Lan Zhan and how he felt besides he hadn't even gotten the chance to wave him goodbye as par their usual routine. It bummed him out further which didn't go unnoticed by ever observing and curious Qin Su. Her brain worked and whirled around as it tried to piece some of the puzzles together even though they were mere crumbs at this stage and complete the notion she was strongly coming to see and believe. Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian...... What a mystery to unfold.
