I heard, He stayed up all night thinking of me,
Tell him I didn't sleep either, thinking of him.
I heard, He cried endlessly in secret,
Tell him I didn't laugh either.
I heard He missed me with each passing day,
Tell him I didn't forget him for a single moment.
I heard that He was always loyal to me,
Tell him I remained faithful as well.
A coat of restless uneasiness settled over the pair after the incident. It had definitely set them back from the little progress they had made. Lan Zhan, most of the times, would forcibly ignore Wuxian with the excuse of work. He worked overtime, hoping to give Wuxian space to come to him first and maybe get over it. He really just didn't know how to approach him without hurting him. Wuxian on the other hand, seemed to recede a bit. The conversation had triggered somethings within him and you could tell he was sort of stuck on the fence, his mind not totally back yet. So they hovered around each other in a compressing manner and air to them.
Nevertheless, they couldn't keep running from the matter. The longer they did, the longer they would be trapped.
Lan Zhan called Wuxian down for lunch as he paused in his paperwork. This AI car was not the easiest project to oversee and he needed to go to the Czech Republic soon for another meeting. Why his father had thought this was a good idea who knows? Ambition knew no bounds. Especially his. He decided to take a break to recharge and possibly restart with Wuxian. Wuxian was outside with the bunnies as usual and didn't hesitate to come in for lunch. The menu was noodles and beef broth with extra spice for him. God knows how spicy Wuxian loved his food to be..... even Lan Zhan couldn't take it.
They sat down facing each other as they ate. Lan Zhan took his time as he kept staring at Wuxian, gauging his mood. He was a man of great patience but even he couldn't wait out such. Wuxian felt Lan Zhan's gaze but avoided it all together. He felt himself quiver, the brim of his being filling and threatening to spill over. He slurped his noodles nonchalantly, hurrying to escape as the tension grew. It was going to happen.
Eventually Wuxian couldn't take it anymore and abruptly stood to his feet. He had to leave. With the way his heart was beginning to pound, he wouldn't last out here and the last thing he wanted was to breakdown before Lan Zhan.
He rounded the table, rushing just as Lan Zhan reacted and held him back.
"Wei Ying," he uttered, his voice heavy and deep.
"Lan Zhan, let go." Wuxian said back as they locked eyes. He attempted to pull away but Lan Zhan's grip was string and locked him in.
"Lan. Zhan." Wuxian called out, demeanour fierce, guard up. He didn't like where this was going. Lan Zhan immediately released him but didn't drop the matter.
"Wei Ying, just listen to me fir...."
"ENOUGH! I already said no and that's the end of it Lan Zhan!"
"You haven't even given it a proper thought yet...."
" I don't have to!!! What part of no don't you understand?!!!"
