The courthouse was painfully empty except for the few people in the room. Flipping sounds of papers and files filled the air as Wuxian and Lan Zhan waited patiently by the bench. They weren't there for the reason you thought as Lan Zhan had relinquished to Wuxian's request. He didn't want to reopen those wounds neither would it change anything for him. He had made peace with it and Lan Zhan eventually let it go. There was no point in forcing him into reinvestigation. Wuxian didn't care if the world condemned and scorned at him as long as they knew the truth, that was enough. They were at the court however, to get Wuxian's official statements to help transition him into society. He needed an ID, registration papers for the system, coverage and other legal requirements. It was important so that he could live freely as himself. This also would enable him to finally claim his inheritance from his parents. After his arrest, all of it had been frozen by the bank due to the legal constraints but now he could get it back. As soon as he got his name, Wuxian would acclaim a fortune of about 250 billion worth of investments, assets, businesses and money. He was going to have a net worth almost as high as Lan Zhan. A fucking billionaire..... not bad, not bad at all.

They had requested for a private consultation given that their engagement news had spread. It was still being acclaimed as rumors that's why it was vital they get Wuxian's details cleared as fast as possible so that everything was carried out correctly. They were accompanied by a lawyer whom had been recommended by the P. I and had been handling the case discreetly. All had been going fine.

"Alright Mr Wei Wuxian, your case has been finalised and accepted. You will have to head down to the Citizens registration office after this to get your ID issued and reinstating card as well as go to the bank to register your account and name. We may call you in later in the week to the District Office and shall correspond with the police on your behalf. For any further inquiry, lias with you lawyer ok? " the judge ordered as he stamped the last papers. Wuxian agreed, thanking him before they took what they needed. The meeting ended and both Lan Zhan and Wuxian left promptly. They had to leave through the back door as some people 'the media' had been following Lan Zhan for a few days since the news and Lan Zhan didn't want to expose Wuxian to that lifestyle just yet. He wanted to slowly ease him into it because it was going to be their reality especially with their exposed relationship and alot of changes would take place. He had to make sure that Wuxian was prepared both mentally and emotionally.

"Ahh, finally! Finally Lan Zhan, I'm going to get my life back. I'm going to start afresh and start living again! Aiyaaahhhh! You can't imagine how happy I am! Wahhh!!" Wuxian explained, stretching out like a cat. He smiled lazily as the car started and they drive off. They had a chauffeur for the day to handle their business. It was a heavily tinted car to evade the nosy paparazzi that had gathered out at the front. How they had even known? Noone knew! One thing down,  onto the next.

Wuxian got onto his phone to text his friend group about the progress they had made as Lan Zhan caught up with work. He had to stay on schedule.

"Eii Lan Zhan look," Wuxian exclaimed showing him their funny jokes. Lan Zhan gave a subtle nod before directing some of his juniors on the presentation. He was in an online meeting. Wuxian chuckled, pecking his cheek before letting him be. He would head to the registration alone and allow Lan Zhan to resume his duties then meet at home. Lan Xichen would come by later to help with anything else that remained before the week ended.

They rode in silence before Wuxian started up with his friends. Jiang Cheng had brought up an important point in the middle of their pointless chats that interested Wuxian a bit. Huh? He hadn't thought about it but now, now he was beginning to piece it together. Whatever Jiang Cheng was suggesting, it seemed to be the next step for both of them.
