WARNING
The following scenes depict graphic details that include blood and gore be advised. Also you might want a lot of tissues and some emotional songs to accompany you, it will be tough on some of you. Lastly, the song that I listened to while writing this was Jung Serin's Enemy of Truth instrumental piece from the Devil Judge kdrama, of you know then you know the gist of this chapter. Godspeed to you all.Noone made a sound or moved as they all came to a anticipated halt. The fighting sounds from below and around faded into a buzz as the 3 men held their stand off. Wuxian could barely draw in air as the realisation of their position sunk in. It was bad..... It was very bad. He peered up to see Lan Zhan's darkened gaze fixated on Jin and his sword. He was calculating, calculating how he would reach Wuxian before the gun went off. There was more than a meter distance in between them and though Wuxian trusted most of Lan Zhan's ideas and plans, he wasn't sure if he could this time..... This time.......
Lan Zhan's body tingled in anticipation, the nerves threatening to take over. Jin's grip on Wuxian was tight and the gun was right at his temple. From the looks of things, he too wasn't all to sure if he could make it, he would have to work incredibly fast and Wuxian had to help him out here. It was only the 3 of them up there. Noone would reach them in time.
He made a twitch to move but that activated Jin's never moving gaze causing him to move as well.
"Uh uh Lan Zhan! One step and I'll blow his brains out!!! DON'T YOU DARE MOVE!!! I FUCKING SWEAR!" Jin warned like a dog on a leash, pulling himself and Wuxian back, pushing the gun further into his head. Wuxian winced in pain, the rim of the gun hole pressing into his head wound that was yet to stop bleeding. Half his head was caked in dried and fresh blood not to mention his other wounds. His head was banging against itself and dark spots littered before his vision. He couldn't hold on much longer. Things were pretty clear here since Jin had the upper hand. He could easily take them out. If he recalled correctly, the gun Jin was holding was an 8 piece revolver and the from the counts; he had 2 bullets left... Perfect for the 2 of them yet he didn't seem able to connect the dots. From the way his heart was beating erratically out of rhythm, Wuxian knew Jin wasn't totally sober.... The drugs were disorienting him.
"THROW YOUR WEAPON TO THE SIDE! NOW LAN ZHAN!!" Jin ordered, strangling Wuxian further up. Lan Zhan grappled as he saw the desparate look on Wuxian's eyes. He had no choice.
The sword cluttered as he threw it far off to Jin's liking. They would have to do this by hand now. Jin grinned, his eyes rolling around his skull. He stumbled back, clinging onto Wuxian as they circled each other. His conscious mind was losing its grip as they went on.
Wuxian clicked, gaining Lan Zhan's attention. It wouldn't be long before Jin's men joined them and then they would have no chance at all. This wasn't the first time they were in a fix, they could find a way out. Using his eyes to communicate, Wuxian looked over at his sword several times then back at himself. Lan Zhan followed the silent signal and understood the assignment. His sword was a few metres away, Lan Zhan could easily reach it just as Wuxian disarmed himself from Jin. They would work together and Lan Zhan would end it all in one clean cut.
Anticipation grew as the partners came into an agreement and prepped. Lan Zhan readied his feet, building up the stamina as he watched carefully while Wuxian steeled his body in preparation, heart already full of regret of the decision he was going to make.
'I'm sorry my love...'
A mental countdown to 3 was all that was needed before they both jumped into action. Wuxian head bumped Jin from the back as Lan Zhan sprinted at high speed. Jin fumbled, thrown off his senses coming back and the 2 began a fight over the gun. Lan Zhan had to hurry.
