After that day, Lan Zhan was never really the same. Something had shifted within him and between them. A new dimension of feelings and emotions was surfacing beneath him and slowly taking its place in his blood and veins and it left him unsteady. He was constantly in and out of his head and thoughts and these unconscious circles that had been tangled up in motion were slowly unravelling and trying to be straight but Lan Zhan felt he was just running into new circles.

Day and night, his heart and mind become more and more confused, clear, alert, scared, feeling everything and nothing at the same time. At some point he even thought he was becoming sick and did a self test on himself. When the results showed nothing, Lan Zhan had resigned to himself even deeper than before and the root of all his problems was none other than Wei Wuxian. Beautiful Wei Wuxian...... Wei Ying with his attractive charm, his eye-catching personality, his humor and wit. Wei Ying with a hidden depth that Lan Zhan was drawn to quench his sudden thirst that seemed to grow with every second. Wei Ying with his dazzling and contagious smile that made Lan Zhan feel light on his feet, his beautiful and captivating eye that seemed to hold the galaxies and Lan Zhan wanted to drown in them. Wei Ying with a beauty and inner force that Lan Zhan was unable to stop himself from leaning into.

Wei Wuxian....... Wei Ying... Wei Wuxian.... Wei Ying... His name rang in his head all day long to the point that he felt he would go mad. Aggravated, Lan Zhan stormed out of his house and headed out to the lake shore. A small shed structure that had been built just far enough into the lake where he usually sat to think or escape which he needed as much.

He crossed the wooden bridge walk that connect their plot of land to the waters and sat criss-crossed  on the hardened board, overlooking the dark blue - green waters beneath him. Immediately, he felt himself ease down at the epicentre of nature that surrounded him. His earlier tension was pushed to the back of his mind and Lan Zhan decided to meditate. He always found it enlightening and it would help him regain focus so that he could figure all this emotional roller-coaster out.

Assuming the correct pose, Lan Zhan unlocked himself and drew into a state of innerness. He was out there until the sun become tooo hot to escape or sustain. Naturally, someone else came by to check on him when the hours had gone long enough.

"You will burn to a crisp if you continue sitting out here Wangji," Lan Xichen spoke as he approached the escaping boy. He had had a feeling he would be out here trying to figure himself out though Xichen could tell he wasn't getting far or rather, Lan Zhan was simply ignoring the truth before him.

Xichen watched as Lan Zhan released his unsatisfied breath and turned towards him, clearly not impressed to be disturbed at a fragile moment like this.

"Da ge, why are you here? Shouldn't you be resting from your trip? I know how hard the journey is from Caru back here," Lan Zhan stated simply as Xichen came over and sat across him. A light breeze blew through bringing some relief to the brothers though it was short lived.

" Changing the subject I see. Yes, I should be resting however my mind fails to comply especially when I see how gloomy and bothered you have been the past 1 week I've been here. Why am I here? Well, I am here because I'm worried about my younger brother who looks like he's on the verge of a mental breakdown. I've only been here a few days but I can already tell something is troubling you and if you are meditating then, you must be troubled beyond your capacity. What is it Wangji? Tell me." Xichen asked, hoping his brother would confide in him. He was always worried about him though never acted on it unless necessary but this time was different. Lan Zhan was always deep in thoughts, would go through phases of emotions reflected in his eyes, would be seen grumbling and often glazed over. It was quite the sight to see him like that. He was concerned.
