Wuxian looked down at his wrist watch for the nth time wondering where Lan Zhan had gone. It had been approximately 30 minutes since he last saw him and now he was nowhere to be found. He had comptemplated going to the kitchen but figured he would only get lost himself plus he didn't want to be accused of snooping around. So he decided to wait though waiting was proving to be tiring and made him reckless. When he realised that Lan Zhan was not showing up soon, Wuxian decided to look for him. He wasn't having a good feeling about this and people would soon notice that the 2nd Lan son was missing in the celebration. Such could easily cause people to spread malicious rumours of his behavior towards his father's new bride and that was not what Wuxian wanted at this point.

He went off in the similar direction Lan Zhan took, occasionally interacting with people to keep up appearances. Staff members filled the other quarter section of the mansion as they kept up with meeting the numerous guests' needs. A groan of disappointment escaped Wuxian when he didn't find any trace of Lan Zhan in any of the kitchens nor did any of the staff report his whereabouts. He racked his brain to try and figure out where the hell this teenage boy was.

He moved to the gardens next in hopes that maybe he was out there, getting some fresh air and talking to the other guests. He hoped.

Lan Zhan felt as though his chest was on fire and not in the good way. He had barely been hiding the whole day but now he was falling deep into that dark place as those words rang over and over in his head.

'Their mother has been dead for
over a decade and no one speaks of
her anymore. It is time for them to
     move on.'

Move on from what?!! To that upper class, over-pristine, over pleasing woman!!? Not in a million years!! He would rather get excluded from every single family gathering and occasion. He would never regard her as his mother. Not in this lifetime! His steps staggered over each other as he tried to make his way back to his house. He was disoriented, partly because his mind was thinking up very dark thoughts of reprimanding that woman who was barely a Lan for less than 24 hours and put her in her place.

Different scenarios played in his head, each darker than the last and they crossed over each other. The other reason why he felt out of it was because he had made the impulsive decision to indulge in a drink. I mean it was a wedding so alcohol was readily available and no one would've stopped him so Lan Zhan thought or rather didn't think it would be a bad idea to take one....... Or a few. Anything to distract him. He had heard how alcohol numbed the pain though he had never approved of such until now. Today, he needed the so called escape.

His vision hazed for the 5th time as the trees around him blurred and the stone path seemed tooo close or was it far...... He tried to hold himself but the world was spinning around and he was slowly regretting it.

“LAN ZHAN!" he heard someone call out from behind. Recognising who it was, he made an attempt to turn but failed terribly and tripped. Luckily, someone else reached him in time and  caught him before he bashed his head on concrete.

" Lan Zhan, wherehave you been?! I have been looking for you all over!! You said you were only going for a moment! What happened? Do you know how worried I was?!?! LAN ZHAN! What's wrong with you? Why are your eyes unfocused...... Lan Zhan..." Wuxian bombarded then took a better look at him. The boy in his arms was unresponsive, burning up and red all over. Wuxian leaned in and caught a whiff of strong liquor more precisely the Emperor's wine.

" What in the world...... Lan Zhan.... Did you drink?!!! Why would you do that you idiot? I thought you abstained from alcohol!!!! LAN ZHAAAN!!" Wuxian yelled as he checked him further. His heart rate was over stimulated and it was clear that his body wasn't reacting well to the it. The guy was a definition of a lightweight and what's more he was getting ill.
