Bolsterous and free-spirited laughter broke, the area quiet as the two boys interweaved between each other, switching from chasing to walking.
"Happy Birthday Lan Zhaaaaan!!!!!" Wuxian shouted out his voice carrying heavily into the night.
"If I had words, I'd make a day for you, I'd sing you a morning golden and true," he began singing as he raced ahead and hollered. His tone was a bit pitchy but that was all the more fun.
"Wei Ying! Hushhhh! People will hear you!" Lan Zhan tried to warn though he was smiling at his ridiculousness.
"I WOULD MAKE THIS DAY LAST FOR ALL TIME!!! GIVE YOU THE SPLENDOR AND MOONSHINE!!!" Wuxian resulted, singing ever even louder, his tone completely off. Lan Zhan couldn't help but break out into giggles as Wuxian continued dramatically towards him.
"Lan Zhan!" he called out, his smile wide open.
"What? What do you want now?" Lan Zhan replied as he walked towards him.
"Dance with me. We haven't danced at all and it is your birthday! That is not right! Come and dance with me!!!" he said grabbing his arm and pulled him close.
"Wei Ying, are you sure you didn't drink? How are we supposed to dance without any sort of music?" Lan Zhan asked trying to get on board.
"Ohhh Lan Zhan! Don't be like that! The sky is awake so there is life in nature. Let nature be our music! Let the earth be our stage! Let our hearts sing Lan Zhan! The rhythm of our bodies will guide us to groove! Come, come Lan Zhan!!" Wuxian proclaimed as he immediately began to waltz, going round in circles. Lan Zhan had no time to prepare as he got dragged along and matched his footing to Wuxian's disorganised ones. Another round of unruly laughter broke through as the two simply fell in and out of each other, their steps criss- crossing along the stony path that left them high on the infinite joy and happiness that rushed through their veins and blood. As they twirled, dipped and pranced around faltering in steps, being unbalanced, the two were as innocent soaring as they could go. It was as if the day had been made just for them and them only.
"Enough, I might puke at this rate," Lan Zhan surrendered as he tried to regain his footing. Wuxian had spun him around about 20 times and everything turned over and over before his vision. He felt Wuxian grab him, keeping him steady as their pace slowed to allow for rest.
" You are crazy." Lan Zhan finally said as the world became still. His eyes were gleaming, sparkling like the stars and he looked up at Wuxian's rugged smirk.
"Only for you my love, only for you." he replied as he pulled him close then turned around so that he walked backwards and faced Lan Zhan, linking their arms. Lan Zhan shook his head, turning away at the cheesiness yet a smile didn't fail to appear. As much as his cheeks hurt from the stretch or how his head felt lighted, he seemingly couldn't stop laughing or smiling. It was an automatic presence and frankly he didn't want it to stop. He wanted this time to go forever and ever.
"I saw that, anyway, how does it feel to finally be 16 now? We are only one year apart till I turn 18, any difference?" Wuxian posed, eager to just hear Lan Zhan's talk.
"What kind of question is that? I've only been 16 years for a few hours Wei Wuxian. Of course, there's no difference. I truly think you had something to drink or else you wouldn't be spewing nonsense like this. Come, confess." Lan Zhan replied as he began poking his sides. He was very ticklish around those parts and this was perfect timing.
" Aiyahhh Lan Zhan! Stop! I swear I am clean!! Ahhhhhh, you're killing me," Wuxian began as he begged for mercy. He was on the ground in seconds as he alternated between laughing, crying and trying to escape.
