After that, the pair became extremely busy. Lan Zhan was swept up with the AI project, spending most of his time in the office while running up and down. A launching date had finally been forwarded so they had to stay on track as much as possible to reach the deadline. Wuxian on the other hand, was preoccupied with new sets of duties as he assumed various roles. He had enrolled in private tutor classes for Business and Economics in order to understand the nature of Lan Zhan's work better and the company at large since he was the 2nd largest shareholder. It also would make him be able to help Lan Zhan in any way possible in his duties. He was alos overseeing the several businesses his parents had left under his care, assuming his role as the new owner. He had decided nit to change any of them as they were doing very well and were lucrative. They could last a while for now. Lastly, he was currently serving under Madam Feng's care as she began to include him into the family business which was accordance with family traditions.
Wuxian was now the first in law 9f the household meaning he had to be taught and be prepared of the shoes he was going to fill in once he began officially married and take over her duties as the new 'wife' head. It was usually meant for the daughter in law but times were different. Nevertheless, that didn't stop Liu Feng. She would make sure that Wuxian would be the next best Master of the Lan household able to stand his ground next to Lan Zhan and perhaps even be better. It was only right. This, he accompanied her to and fro her work, the various organisations and welfare she was part of and instructed him diligently on every single matter that she handled, how she made sure she was always on top of things and introduced him to trustworthy associates who would support him in future. It was alot in all honesty and Wuxian wasn't exactly sure if he could do it but he somehow pulled through. He now had friends and family who were more than happy to help and above all Lan Zhan's support.
Lan Zhan had reassured him that it was all ok if he didn't want to do any of this. He could find his own thing to do and he would back him up 100%. He didn't want him to feel pressured or caged in at all. Whatever he decided, Lan Zhan was ok with it. Luckily, Wuxian didn't feel like that at all, there were moments of stress yes but he was totally capable of handling it as this was the way he could have a hand in building their empire together and be a man worthy of Lan Zhan. It was what he wanted.
Not long after, Lan Zhan left for the Czech Republic as planned. It would be one week travel with his team as they had to meet their sponsors and finalise some things. It was a rushed goodbye as he left before the crack of dawn, the 10+ hour flight awaiting him. Wuxian was left in charge of his company branch with Xichen's help of course until he came back. Wuxian had no problem with it as he was all updated with the different units and functions and just had to put his hands unit the game. He would be fine, he reassured. Besides, Lan Zhan had made sure to cover more than half the work to ease Wuxian's time and had also strongly warned his workers about messing with him. He wouldn't hesitate to fire and punish them heavily for it.
All was planned then and they split. Wuxian easily adjusted by the second day, enjoying the feel of being the boss as he sat in Lan Zhan's chair twirling in his office like it was his playground. He absolutely loved it especially the heavenly view of the city. Unfortunately though, someone had to rain down on his parade as usual and that person didn't wait to show up as soon as his son left.
It was around 2 in the afternoon when Wuxian heard someone barge into the office, several footsteps lining the tiled floor. A fake grin plastered gainst his face as he slowly put down the file he was reading and looked up to face dear old daddy. Lan Qiren had finally made an appearance along with 2 of his accomplices to approach his greatest enemy yet. He was here for a fight.
"Oh my, to what do I owe this pleasure of your visit Mr Lan?" Wuxian started off as he leaned back in his seat. He could fell the tension creep in but maintained a relaxed posture. He had nothing to fear nor hide. He was just going to spectate how this played out and enjoy the show. His calm demeanour greatly irritated the older man as he fisted his hands, his anger flaring. He was sick of this parasite.
