Wei Wuxian knew he would fall on his feet soon if he didn't get a break at this very moment. His head was pounding like an anvil to a point that even moving his facial features struck a nerve. His whole body was protesting for rest as he had been up since the break of dawn and it didn't help that he hadn't slept that well the previous night. In fact, he hadn't been sleeping well ever since he searched those pictures of Lan Zhan. Those haunting eyes of his plagued his dreams at night to a point he didn't want to sleep anymore. Every time he crossed the road going to and fro Bic's stall, he would constantly levitate towards that Lan car advertisement to glance at Lan Zhan then immediately regret it.

The plethora of mixed emotions and memories stuck with Wuxian and he wanted sudden freedom from that. At least in prison he could reimagine a new reality for himself than the one he already had. But he had no time for that. The Noodle House was packed since it was the weekend and many city people had filled the downtown to get away and indulge in local businesses.

So there he was, dog- gone tired, supporting an out of this world headache and running to and fro between customers.

“Excuse me, can you take our order?”

“Heyy! Why hasn't our meal arrived yet?”

“Do you have anything else other than noodles?”

“This place is too noisy, can you reduce the volume please?”

“I need more spice in this! Bring more chilli!”

“ORDER FOR TABLE 25 NOW MO XUANYU!!!"

Wei Wuxian felt as though he would go mad at this point. He was being pulled in all directions and now his headache was turning to a migraine. He finally got to the kitchen counter after being bombarded with orders, insults, rudeness and disrespect. It was a rough crowd out there and the mother of all monsters was right back here.

“MO XUANYU! WHY ARE YOU SO SLOW TODAY?!DO YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR JOB!? CAN'T YOU SEE THAT WE ARE BOOMING RIGHT NOW!!? GET YOURSELF TOGETHER BOY!” the boss shouted as he took in each order.

“Sorry- Boss.... I'm just not feeling that well,” Wuxian spat, gritting his teeth. Ohh, how he wanted to just punch this guy in the face right now. Couldn't he see that Wuxian was dying right here? If only he wasn't feeling so terrible, he would have socked him hard. The fucking bastard.

“AH, AH. I DON'T NEED THIS NOW, LOOK, I'M RUNNING OUT OF INGREDIENTS RIGHT NOW SO I NEED YOU TO HEAD OVER TO BIC AND GET SOME NOW OK! ?”

   “But what about the customers?”

“MO XUANYU! STOP ASKING DUMB QUESTIONS AND JUST DO WHAT I SAY! DID I EMPLOY YOU TO THINK OR FOLLOW ORDERS!!!”

Wei Wuxian glared his eyes at the big man and if he could turn people into stone this guy would be crumbles. He was really testing him.

“GO!” the boss said, shooing Wuxian away with his head. Wuxian took the money as hard as he could before rubbing his head due to his excessive glaring. Damn asshole!

“AND MAKE SURE TO BUY SOME MEDICINE FOR YOURSELF! I DON'T NEED YOU DYING INSIDE MY RESTAURANT!! BAD FOR BUSINESS YOU KNOW!”

Wuxian was about to go back and give him a few choice words of his own for a moment but he controlled himself. He didn't need this bullshit at this point. Taking his anger out at the stray cat outside, Wei Wuxian slowly made way to Bic's stall to run his errand. His only worry was how he was going to make it to the end of the day without falling into pieces or without getting into a fight with a particular person. He was also hot tempered when greatly annoyed.  Too bad, hewasn't aware that this, this day was the day he had been dreading/hoping for and neither did his counter part.
