Prologue
Umalingawngaw ang ingay ng tao at tugtog sa paglabas ko ng bahay. Punong-puno ng mga bisita ang garden maging ang side ng pool. Lahat ay tila masaya kung titingnan. Lahat nagkakasiyahan.
Nagkalat ang mga taong sa mga party mo nga lang talaga makikita, pero kapag nangangailangan ka wala ang mga taong ito sa tabi mo kahit man lang na damayan ka.
Dumiretso ako sa table kung nasaan si kuya at Kieran. Elegant dark black short club dress off shoulder with draped sleeves and train is what I wear and also a pair of pumps. I curled my hair a bit and let it sway.
Pinaghila ako ni Kieran ng upuan. Umupo lang ulit siya ng makaupo na ako.
"Is it good to be back," he said while stretching his arms. I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Why?" he asked.
"I really wanna work abroad but dad and mom want me to settle here in the Philippines."
I planned to work abroad, earn money on my own, and travel but my parents want me to stay here for good.
"Did Zeun call?" Kieran asked so I rested my chin on my palm. "Why are you staring like that hah?"
"Are you jealous?" I asked while smiling.
"Tsk. Why do you think I'll be jealous? You two look like real siblings. So tell me... want me to be jealous?" he asked while smirking.
"Of course! Not. If you're jealous, say it, I'll make sure I'll do something to ease that freaking jealousy of yours."
"So brave hah," he said while laughing. "So tell me what would you do if I'm jealous?"
"It's a secret."
Nagulat kami ng padabog ilapag ni kuya ang baso sa mesa. "Stop flirting in front of me. It's actually freaking gross. Oh my gosh! Why are you end up like this hah?"
"Well it definitely suits us, kuya."
Were actually like this even while aboard. I don't know but Kieran and I became super close. Zeun is one of my schoolmates who's always updating me, so hindi pa rin nawawala ang communication namin sa isa't-isa.
Sa lahat ng tao siya lang ang hindi talaga nakakalimot. Nalaman ko na nagtatrabaho siya sa kompanya ng mga yumaong mga lola at lolo nila.
"Hey! My favorite cousin!" Napalingon ako ng marinig ko ang boses ni Tim. Napatayo ako saka ko siya sinalunong ng isang mahigpit na yakap. "Namiss kita."
"Namiss din kita," ang tanging naisagot ko. "Why didn't you pay a visit hah?"
"It's just that, you know... I'm a very busy person."
"Duh! As if naman busy ka with business stuff, I think you're busy with some girls."
He propped his chin on his hand. "You think?" he asked so I agree so I gave him a short nod for my answer. "Isa lang yan, hindi yan ang top priority ko. Actually marami pang iba."
Naupo na kami saka nagk'wentohan. Hindi rin nagtagal ay inaya kami ni mommy para ipakakilala sa mga kakilala niya.
Kieran's hand was on my waist while we were talking with our mother's friend.
"So... when is the wedding?" The woman asked so I looked away as my face went blank.
"Were aren't at that stage, tita. We're enjoying our lives in some separate ways now. If we're already ready, always remember that even if she or someone is going to be my bride you'll be invited."
The woman chuckled but I know she's annoyed as well. Marites kasi.
"Wedding is not the answer to end up together," I said before I excused myself and decided to go inside our house and sat on a couch.
