KIDS GET SUSPICIOUS

Leo wasn't telepathic by any stretch of the imagination. His CV special skills covered making warships and stupid jokes, but he knew when Di was overthinking. It was like a sixth sense. She had once described everyone's auras to him, which he recalled confused him a little at the time but he didn't interrupt because of how elated she was by sharing the news, but now, it was almost as if he could see hers. Not literally like she could; there was no red hue emitting from her body nor crackling sparks of discomfort, but he could almost feel her effecting the mood of the room.

Thankfully it was only the two of them in her cabin at the time. After the day they had of being attacked by dwarves, Piper had decided it would be a good idea for everyone to have an early night before they docked in Venice. Leo had to wait for Nico to finish skulking over the deck to sneak down to Di's cabin, and he made sure to lock the door too so he wouldn't get caught like they had that morning by Jason. The memories still made him blush like an idiot.

Leo was lounged out on her bed, nearly swallowed by all the cushions and blankets she had, a piece of coiled wire discarded between his fingers which he had been fiddling with before she distracted him. Nadia had been flicking through a spell book but her fingers had since stopped dancing across the aged pages and she sat, unmoving on the floor, staring at the pages as if they held some deep, philosophical answer to every question flurrying about her mind.

Leo tried not to be concerned but he found it difficult not to be when she had so much going on in her head that he didn't know about. He thought they were past the stage of secrets. "Muñeca?" He murmured, easing her concentration onto him, away from her spell book. He grinned crookedly at her, smiling with the smile he knew she loved. "What're you thinking about?"

"Nothing." She answered immediately, smiling back at him. It took all of Leo's efforts not to be distracted by her pretty smile.

"You sure?" He asked, trying not to sound so disbelieving.

She shut the book. "Nothing you need to worry about." She reworded. Leo rolled the wires in his hand to satisfy his nervous itch. Something was up.

"Tell me anyway." Leo said softly. "You know I like hearing your voice." She blushed and he grinned helplessly. He loved seeing the effects of his affection on her.

She slid up off of the floor and sat on the bed with him. Leo shifted to make room for her at his side, shoulder to shoulder, thigh to thigh, laying his head against her shoulder, their legs tangling together. She brought her hand up and rested it on his head, playing with his hair. At the feeling, Leo's eyes fell shut and he smiled to himself.

"Come on," he urged. "Talk to Leo." He felt her shoulder shake with a laugh and his smile grew.

"I was thinking about what I did today," she spoke lowly, her voice absolutely mesmerising. "Freezing the Kerkopes."
