0035. | NADIA LEARNS
A LITTLE SPANISHNadia couldn't sleep. Her prophecy kept running through her mind on repeat. Honestly, she was terrified. She would never admit it aloud mostly because it would just come out in a rhyme, but because she didn't want to think on it. She didn't want to think on the possibilities of the prophecy. She wished she had never heard it.
So when sunrise came, Nadia was the first out of bed. She showered and got changed into her camp clothes that she was still getting used to, strapping Kore to her thigh and waking Lou Ellen for the council meeting they had been called to. Nadia was asked to come along because, even though Lou Ellen was the Hecate Head Counsellor, Nadia was the only one of them to have been on a quest.
Lou Ellen was very grumpy when she realised that their rhyming curse still hadn't worn off and when they reached the rec room, the sisters spent the whole time glaring across the ping pong table at Will Solace. He had looked smug at first but under Lou Ellen's fierce stare, he started to fidget a little, playing with an ace bandage around his wrist instead of facing their glares. It wasn't much use though - Nadia was awful at glaring.
She could remember glaring at Lityerses who had threatened Jason but looking back on it, she must not have been so scary considering Lit had no qualms about stabbing her. That cut through her abdomen had turned into a thin jagged white scar after Phoebe the Hunter's medicine.
She made a mental note to send her a thank you note.
Leo arrived soon after Nadia and Lou Ellen had, stealing the seat next to her before Miranda from the Demeter cabin could. Nadia tried her hardest not to stare at Leo who had his standard cheeky grin on his face as he looked around the room. "Hey, Di," he greeted, shifting his chair closer to hers around the ping pong table that was used as a regular table stacked with sodas and nachos. "The orange suits you." He winked and Nadia knew her face was burning red. When she didn't answer, he frowned. "No thank you...?" He teased.
She bit her lip nervously. "Please don't make me speak, I sound like a freak." She rhymed forcefully which made Will laugh at her from across the table. Leo looked awkwardly between them.
"Hey, that rhymed!" He joked, not understanding why the Apollo head counsellor was chuckling so much.
Nadia pouted. "It's Will's fault, he won't make it halt!" Leo laughed at her, leaning over to give Will a high five across the table and his compliments for the prank whilst Nadia maintained her pout.
Jason and Piper arrived after that, and Nadia saw Jason watching Clarisse from the Ares cabin nervously. Nadia had to admit, Clarisse was really scary but she had a feeling that if she told that to Clarisse, she'd take it as a compliment. She kept feeding the leopard head with snausages. Nadia remembered Hana saying it was called Seymour.
