There was something about waking up with Di that Leo absolutely adored. Maybe it was the way her nose would scrunch up when she slept, or how she held onto him so tightly in her sleep, or just the fact that he was so easily elated by waking up next to the girl he loved. Either way, Leo loved it.
He always woke up first, thank the gods because it would be totally embarrassing if Di heard how he snored. But it was also because he liked those first few early minutes before she woke up when he could admire her completely without Jason distracting him or Piper teasing him or even Nadia getting shy and turning away. He liked memorising her face, how her lips were a little chapped from sleep and how her complexion was getting a little darker in the summertime and how completely and utterly stunning she was.
Truly, Leo liked seeing Nadia unbothered by the daily issues that stressed her. He could see it in her eyes, that constant thought that was always playing in the back of her mind and he wanted so badly to know what it was but he also knew better than to ask. Something was bothering her, he just hoped that she knew he could tell her anything. He just decided to give her some time. He trusted her to tell him when she was ready.
Her head was laid on his chest, his fingers trying to brush through her curls but they got caught. Her head was a little heavy on his scrawny chest, but he didn't mind, in fact, he kind of liked it. He liked the assuredness of feeling the weight of her on him. He liked knowing she was there and that she was real.
Sometimes Leo had to remind himself that his life wasn't a dream he had made up and that Nadia was real and loved him, and he really did live in this crazy world of heroes and monsters. Her face scrunched slightly, like she was about to wake up. He smiled.
"Buenos días, princesa. Good morning, princess." He stroked her hair as her eyes flickered open. Leo didn't think he'd ever get over how beautiful her eyes were.
She grumbled something that he understood as 'morning'. Di wasn't really a morning person to put it lightly. Thanks to Hecate being the goddess of the night, Nadia was much more inclined towards night rather than day. It caused an insanely cute morning reaction for Leo.
"We're above Rome," Leo told her, letting her snooze a little longer. "We'll be touching down after breakfast."
She grumbled a little more. He smiled.
"Come on, Di," he poked her cheekbone. "don't make me drag you out of bed. You know I'll do it." He warned. She shook her head, burying her face in his shoulder. Brilliant, he grinned to himself. He loved a challenge.
