0023. | THE PROMISE OF
JUST THEM, FOREVER

Nadia was a little scared. She shouldn't have been. A hero shouldn't be afraid, at least that's what she remembered from the stories her dad used to read to her, and Nadia was most definitely a hero. Especially after saving the whole crew from the immortal son of Medusa, but still, Nadia was afraid.

Conjuring the presence of a god, fake or not, was near-damn impossible. But she had, and she had found it easy too. She was terrified of herself; utterly terrified. Her power was just a little too great, a little too easy for her to manipulate. And all she could think about while tending to Leo's cuts and bruises was her prophecy. When the July day does come, Scarlet's Daughter will succumb. It didn't take a rocket scientist to know what that meant and Nadia had a horrible feeling of what was to come in her future.

She dabbed at the cut on Leo's lip. He winced. "Sorry." She whispered, wiping a healing salve on it.

She was worried about Leo too. He had got hurt because of her. Nadia's power had been a threat to their enemies and because of that, she had unintentionally endangered Leo. He had promised her he was fine, saying 'you should see the other guy', but she couldn't stop worrying. Even after giving him ambrosia and a healing potion, he was still bruised and bleeding a little.

"Estás bien? Are you okay?" Leo tucked a curl behind her ear. Nadia wasn't great on Spanish, but sometimes it was close enough to French for her to understand.

She nodded, giving him a smile. "I'm fine." She promised. "It's you I'm worried about."

"Me?" Leo laughed but he winced a little. He tried to cover it up but Nadia saw it. He had fractured ribs that would take time to heal from her healing potions. "Estoy bien. I'm fine." He put his hand over hers. "Siempre estoy de acuerdo con que la Nurse Nadia me cuide. I'm always okay with Nurse Nadia looking after me."

She smiled at the joke and so did he. His hand rubbed up and down her arm for comfort and she watched him affectionately. She saw how his fingers traced over the thin white scar she had since last winter when she broke her arm...

"I have an idea." She looked at him nervously. "Do you trust me?"

Leo gave him a disbelieving look. "You're seriously asking that?" She bit her lip. He sighed. "Of course I do; with my life, Di. What're you thinking?"

She didn't say anything. Instead, she summoned her magic to her fingers and raised it over Leo's fractured ribs. Her nose scrunched as she concentrated, but just as she had hoped, her magic reached Leo's bones. She could feel them repairing under her influence and Leo was fighting a pained groan.
