MAKES NADIA LAUGH

The bus dropped them off at this run down museum that looked like the school would be their only customers that year. The area was absolutely freezing, though Leo didn't mind it too much. According to Nadia, Leo was a walking furnace for warmth, only she didn't know the reason why.

It was times like these when Leo appreciated his certain... skill of being a walking furnace for the simple fact that it gave him an excuse to be close to Nadia which was an opportunity he took at any chance. Especially when she was dressed for summer in a red floral dress, white sneakers, and her red jacket that meant she was desperate for him to warm her up (which he did with pleasure).

Leo slung his arm over her shoulders and pulled her closer to him without meaning to as he spoke to Jason. "So, a crash course for the amnesiac." He started. "We go to the Wilderness School. Which means we're 'bad kids'. Your family, or the court, or both in Nadia's case, or whoever, decided you were too much trouble. So they shipped you off to this lovely prison- sorry, boarding school- in Armpit, Nevada, where you learn valuable nature skills like running ten miles a day through the cacti and weaving daisies into hats! And for a special treat, we go on educational field trips with Coach Hedge, who keeps order with a baseball bat. Is it all coming back to you now?"

           "No."

Jason was really dragging it out now, even Leo didn't find the joke funny anymore and that was saying something. Not that it mattered. "You're really going to play this out, huh?" He glanced down at Nadia. She was actually incredibly short, it was only her hair that grew at all angles that gave her a little height booster so she didn't quite look like a nine year old. "Okay, so the three of us started here together this semester. Darling Nadia here, has been here since forever. We're all totally tight. You do everything I say and give me your dessert and do my chores-,"

"Leo!" Both Nadia and Piper chastised him at once, though she wasn't quite as scary as Piper who looked ready to cry and yell all at once. Leo understood she was upset about Jason, but they had it sorted. They always did.

"Fine. Ignore that last part." He admitted. "But we are friends. Well, Piper's a little more than your friend, the last few weeks-," Leo, as usual, was cut off by Piper's squeak of embarrassment. He couldn't help but snicker. Piper always looked funniest with her face completely red like a tomato. She was almost the same colour as Nadia's jacket- which Leo noticed she never went anywhere without. It was a little weird, but kind of cute.

            "Leo, stop it!"

"Yeah, you like-like Piper." Leo continued with a crooked grin. "But not Nadia, you're just friends with Nadia, you don't like her in that way. Not at all." Leo realised he was practically spelling it out for Jason, but he had to make the situation clear. If Jason decided he liked Nadia, Leo would lose all chances. Jason was superman, and Leo was, well... Aquaman - completely forgettable and overlooked.
