WALK INTO A WITCH'S STORE

As they got to the next floor, Nadia and Piper made a silent agreement to split. Piper followed the boys to try her charmspeak on them and break the enchantments on them whilst Nadia cornered her niece. "What did you mean when you said I need to change affiliation?"

Medea eyed her carefully. "I have a certain patron that is relying on your change of heart." She said vaguely. Nadia swallowed the fear that bubbles in the pit of her stomach.

"...your patron wants my will to bend?" She worded the prophecy nervously but Medea didn't notice, too busy watching Leo trying on a scrapped orange camp-half-blood t-shirt and Jason admiring a slashed up toga.

"My patron does not want things," Medea snapped. "My patron makes things happen. As you have been chosen, I suggest you submit. You cannot fight the inevitable." Nadia needed to get as much information from Medea as she could. This could be the difference between walking into a death trap, or saving her and her friend's lives.

But her words made Nadia nervous. It was like the prophecy was coming true right in front of her eyes and that terrified her. "Why are you even here? What do you want from us? Why are you trying to hurt my friends?" Nadia demanded with a panicked voice that pleased Medea greatly. It was like she fed on other's fears of her.

Medea smiled cruelly. "The immigration process to your country took a while. Our patron finally pulled me through. She made all this possible-," she waved to everything around her in the Department Store. Nadia didn't like how she said our patron.

"Why does this look so familiar?" Jason was frowning and Piper looked like she was going insane. He was holding a torn purple t-shirt up to his chest that read SPQ, the last letter singed off.

"Jason, it's like yours," Piper stressed. "Now we really have to leave." She pulled onto his arm, looking back at Nadia for help.

"Nonsense." Medea shook her head, strengthening her enchantment. "The boys aren't done, are they? And yes, my dear. Those shirts are very popular - tradeins from previous customers. It suits you."

"Your highness," Piper said rigidly. "Why don't you tell the boys about how you betrayed your family? I'm sure they'd like to hear the story."

"More story?" Jason smiled.

"We love more story!" Leo agreed.

Medea glared heatedly at Piper. "I'm not the one you should be worried about being a betrayer." She smiled cruelly, her eyes burning a hole in Nadia's head. "You will meet your end by familiar hands." She warned her, and Nadia tensed.
